One Day in Venice - How to Make the Most of Your Visit

more hype and pictures of an almost empty St marks Square far from the reality ! the city is over run with tourists, it's a Disney land on the edge of an industrial City. Two visits this year nothing but que's of 'follow the umbrella' groups in St Marks Sq. and through the streets you could hardly see the ground let alone walk through it, the cafe's, restaurants and hotels rip off the tourists for food, drinks and over night stays (160 Euros for a frozen sea bass). not really much to see in Venice other than crumbling buildings, canals into which the sewage from the buildings flow and a pretty bridge there are older buildings, Bridges and Palaces in other Italian cities my advice is try them. Venice is a triumph of marketing over reality.
