For the final recording, you'll need to use a camera, yes. The costume / wardrobe is really a requirement for the lead roles, and less so for the large chorus ensemble.

Yep, I will be listening for vocal ability only. You can, if you want, let the music record into the audition, but for the final recording, it will have to be just vocals.

The microphone only matters for the final recording. There's no age restriction, no. However, the characters do have an age "range". If you watch the show / movie, basically the different character's / actor's ages are a good guideline.

The audition doesn't need to be in costume (but it helps for me to determine visual casting), but the final performance will need to be in costume.

You can definitely sing in the chorus. I need a big sound for that, and the microphone quality is not as important for that - more for the lead roles. You must have a good microphone for the lead roles.

Les Mis is a universal story; the message and the meaning aren't bound to any one country or area of humanity. It doesn't matter where you're from!

Actually, it's all virtual, like the Virtual Choir that Eric Whitacre does. So you would only create your own video, and I'm going to combine them all to create the large cast video.

For the audition, it's not as necessary. Most importantly need to hear you sing. But in the final video, I need characterization. Whether it's chorus or lead. The end video will be fantastic to watch as well as listen to. The whole project will be professional from top to bottom.

Can you audition for different characters? I'm a high baritone and I have actually trained my voice and practice the Enjolras and Marius parts for years but I would love to be even part of the People (chorus) :) though I would also love to try for Valjean, Javert and Thenardier. (voice only for these last 3 as I don't think I may look like them ;) )

You should do more of these. Audition for each role using solo songs. Jean Valjean would be WHO AM I. Fantine would be I DREAMED A DREAM. Cosette would be her solo moment in IN MY LIFE. When you choose the voices, have them sing each song from the BEST OF LES MISERABLES CD. And include CASTLE ON A CLOUD for kids. Just a suggestion.
