How could you possibly know without having seen the movie? The minute or so we can see in this video looks nice, but there's over two hours to this movie, and based on how far part 1 gets into the story, it's going to be about 50% filler compared to the Broadway show. I have a feeling that fact in and of itself is going to bring the movie down to an intolerable drag. And you won't see any of that filler in the promo material.

Better than Into The Woods, Sweeney Todd, West Side Story, Cats, In The Heights, and so much more. They all just missed the mark by failing to adapt their Source Material faitfully and putting their eggs in their Celebrity Casting rather than pushing for a faithful adaptation.

I watched a vid recently where a group was trying to recreate the conditions of The Beatles recording outside on the roof and how it sounded so good. They were actually surprised at how well things recorded outside -- not being in an enclosed room actually produces a more clean dry sound.

In this situation, the actors are singing live, but the orchestra is not playing live with them, and I doubt the ensemble is singing live for each take. So the sound tech and editors are mixing several different performances in different spaces together, having to make it sound cohesive.

Wait…I’m kind of obsessed with the acapella. Wicked’s social media team: If you’re reading this, I would LOVE to see an acapella cut on the DVD. There’s something so natural about them singing with no backing track, because if you were to harmonise with a friend in real life, a score wouldn’t appear out of thin air to accompany your singing. I know that’s all part of suspending disbelief, but to see snippets of them singing with no backing track was beautiful. I would absolutely LOVE to see a cut of the final film where there’s no backing track.

Don't know much about this story but i love musicals and i'm a big fan of the Wizard of Oz! The singing sounds epic! Apart from their awesome voices both Ariana and Cynthia can really act too! I love this. Loyal to musical theatre. The scene partner then gets to RECEIVE that emotion differently AND the EMOTIONAL MOMENTUM of the scene contextualizing it and the actions can influence the acting so much so it just flows so much more naturally
