Louis found 5sos on youtube and then shared a video. 5sos said in an interview that one day they just woke up and so many people were mentionning them on twitter and they had no idea what was happening all of a sudden haha. They gained a huge following after that. So then 1d invited them to their tours etc and now 5sos have a really successful career!! They're really grateful for 1d and thanked them multiple times, telling them that they changed their lives. It's really awesome to see. They became close friends extremely quickly, I think Niall was the closest with all of them, pretty sure Harry and Michael were pretty close too, also Ashton dated Harry's older sister haha. Anyway they have massive respect for each other and were asked about the other band in interviews sometimes, and only had nice things to say. Both bands admire each other so much and the fandoms really get along as well, 5sos is our sibling fandom, it's so refreshing to see.

I thought that the Gemma thing was just a rumour about who the "English Love Affair" song was about with no actual context? English Love Affair is a crazy underrated song though and if it's about Gemma, damn girl, here for it! It would be a great story. The Louis tweet was set up by their mutual mgmt co - 1D got profits off 5sos blowing up, they had part ownership. (Though 5sos was still wildly in debt in 2014).

5sos is definitely our sibling fandom we love 5sos and their fans dearly. Both fandoms and the bands are really close and always have been. 5sos talks about them in interviews and even dressed up as them in their "old me" music video. I'm pretty sure there all cool with each other they have reacted to some of the boys solo stuff on twitch and still follow Niall on Instagram (since Niall were always the closest with them).

Seeing this live is probably one of my favourite memories of life, they’re just all so full of energy and they love what they do!! 1D’s band wasn’t playing here that’s why you don’t see Ashton, he’s on the drums. I love Teenage Dirtbag so I wasn’t sure about a cover. I like their version just as much as the original. The ONLY thing I wish they did differently was give Louis a longer verse, which is how I feel about all of their songs. 😁 Srsly tho, this is exactly the style of music I think would fit him perfectly. 💙

5sos opened for 1d for all of their where we are tour i believe and was going to for their next one but then gained a ton of fans and had a tour of their own which i bet was amazing. they were already getting popular on youtube and then louis noticed them on youtube, gave them a shoutout on twitter, which gave them a push in the right direction, and then ig he asked managment to bring them on tour something, they started getting even more popular and then they got signed to simons mangament as well (sadly)… no ddoubt that niall is their biggest fan tho

fun fact the This is Us version was precisely edited and doesn't include Niall's verse(my guess bc he songs that her boyfriend is a dick) so I'm glad you watched both versions Please react to more of This is Us, it was filmed during their Take me Home tour of the sophomore album Take me Home (duh) and you haven't heard so much songs from this album yet. I love you for noticing Niall in the first one; he really had his rockstar moments there and that's why I added my 1 to the spreadsheet, despite them cutting out his verse (2nd one, after Harry) probably cz it's full of swear words and this was part of their movie. His part is there in their other live performances of this song. The guys with the pies are Jon, Josh, Sandy and Dan, One Directions's musical band. You can see them clearly, playing their various instruments, in the first vid.

I don't have a nostalgia to the particular song but I had nostalgia to the sound of it, even the type of voice the original singer had because it was the time when I was getting to know my own music, not influenced by parents and pop-punk was my first favourite genre)) I don't know how I tolerated voices like that lol The boys version is amazing, and what's even better when haters say anything about them that they're "voiceless manufactured pop band that has no talent" you can always give this song for them to listen and, unless they're just mindless trolls, usually they change their mind about One Direction. It's a great cover. Great idea to react to both videos, loved it!

I went to see the movie when it came out here in France in the cinema, I went to "Le Grand Rex" in Paris, and there were only 3 people in the whole theater (it was during the day, during the week while my daughter was at school) and I absolutely loved it, but the 3D stuff tripped me out at times.

The weird start is because it’s from the movie. They mixed the concert (sadly not the full concert) with the documentary parts) So the start is when they were in Tokyo. Yeah I loved the original song but I love the lads version more. Such a great cover.

This song made me a fan of 1D. I used to hate them, like I couldn’t stand them. Just typical 15 year old me going against everyone around me. My mom watched the this is us movie and told me about it. That they are actually pretty cool and all. So I secretly watched the movie too (I think in 2018??) and this song just threw me over the edge. Wheatus’ lead singer is Brendan B Brown. I’ve interacted with him a few times on Twitter. He said he was shocked and thrilled when he learned 1D covered the song. FUN FACT, he’s besties with Josh(1d’s drummer) and Sandy(1d’s bassist). The three of them have a song, ONLY YOU. The video is so cool, it’s stop go animation with Lego. I’d LOVE TO SEE YOUR REACTION to that song.

I don't know if anyone's said this yet, but Ashton is in the top right corner playing drums. There's a different video that shows that. I also like to notice that Luke, Michael, and Calum consistently go in that direction towards the drums because that is how they play as a band and involve Ash.

I would have loved to see Ashton on drums. They said they could have played all of One Direction's set list because they were watching it everyday for so long. 5SOS has recently done a Podcast about all of their ten years. In the episode about 2013 they talk about this tour

I have to agree with you on the sound. I do love 1ds version. Even if I didn't like 1d and I heard it I would prefer it. I remember when the original came out and I loved it back then. Then you kind of lose track of songs sometimes when you don't hear it forever. So then 1ds version came out and I was like :o yes this is perf. And I went and googled the original go hear it and I was like omg. I don't remember him sounding like that. It's not bad of course just def different from 1ds lol great reaction
