I don't listen to One Direction anymore, not because their music is bad I just out grew them. But after all these years they still get me every time. When I watch them sing I get sent back to 7th grade. I've never stopped loving those boys they've just been pushed back in my memory. Watching this video made me realize how much I love them and I always will. Because they're not just a boy band... They're much more than that. And to the "Directioners"... who are saying "the original singer has a high pitched voice, he sounds like Mickey Mouse".....blah blah blah. That's the whole point. The lead singer from Wheatus is as if Screech from Saved By The Bell were in a rock band. Teenage Dirtbage is about being the awkward, nerdy, loser kid in school. If he were to sing like a Backstreet Boy (the way One Direction did it), it wouldn't have captured the essence of the song. I don't think the guys in One Direction even know what it's like to be a high school outcast, aka a "teenage dirtbag".

it's funny that one direction haters who claim to be all high and mighty in their music knowledge think that One Direction fans only listen to one direction songs. shouldn't you, as a music lover, realize that people enjoy endless genres of music? obviously Wheatus sang the original version of this song...you'd have to live under a rock your whole life if you didn't know that this song is a cover. i for one like both versions. obviously no one can never and will never succeed the original version but that doesn't forbid anyone from covering it and it doesn't forbid anyone from liking the cover of it. let people appreciate the music they want to appreciate. jesus.

I wish people would stop hating on One Direction for covering a song. Big deal - they sang a song. They didn't say it was their own. They didn't put it on an album. They didn't make a music video. All they're doing is including it in their concert, which is something most artists do. And they can sing, if they couldn't they wouldn't be the biggest boy band in the world, ok. Don't bother saying it's because of their looks, because yeah they're freaking sexy but they can also sing really really well. Also, don't hate on a band or artist because of who their fans are.
