And before anyone comes into the comments to tell me "WELL ACTUALLY PRIMO ISNT GOING TO BE DISTILLED AT EL PANDILLO ANYMORE". I know that, I apologize, I recorded this video before I knew that. But rather than tossing out this video, and because the bottles I had were still made there i felt that the overall message still applied very well. Anyway! True. But...the current available bottles of Primo are, so the info is still very much relevant. Thanks Lui!

@@Lui_Fern Hi Lui what are your thoughts on Socorro?
@dave1986R2 ай бұрын
The first time I saw a bottle of Terralta I noticed that the bottle had the same embossing as the G4, and I was a bit confused. But now I get it, because they’re made with water from different sources. And of course if you change the water source, the flavor profile will change. And Felipe Camarena’s stroke of genius was to take the tequila made from well water and re-brand it so they could keep selling it. Of course one drawback to using collected rain water is that it’ll run out fairly quickly, hence the deep well water. I haven’t tried all the El Pandillo brands yet, but right now G4 Reposado is the best tequila I’ve ever tried, so far.

This answers a lot of the questions that I had. I have G4 and Terralta and I agree that the G4 is definitely more agave forward and has a lot more minerality and unique flavors. Both are great in their own way, depends on my mood.

I love everything from 1579! I just picked up a barrel select Primo Reposado and it is amazing. Unfortunately the Primo brand is no longer being produced at 1579.

Just got back from El Pandillo 2 weeks ago and met the mad scientist himself. The distillery is located in a beautiful area off the beaten path. All they had when we were there was G4 and Volans (brought back a bottle of Volans)

Currently have bottles of G4 and Terralta, love them both. Volans is definitely in the near future. Loved the video.

Thanks for making a El Pandillo video. It's produces my favourite tequilas as well. G4 has not been so easy to find, but recently the Blanco has become more available. Despite not liking to make cocktails with Good Sipping Tequilas, I tried a "Dead man's handle" with a Volans - Very nice.

Terralta is so underrated ! For the money its hard to beat ! Don Vicente is another fantastic offering from 1579 that you should try.

Great video. I love everything out of 1579. Don Vincete and Volans both use aeration. It’s wild how just small changes make a huge difference in the flavors.

Great stuff as always! If you ever get the chance, a video like this covering NOM 1123 brands would be awesome.
@WhiskeySnobs6 ай бұрын
I was going to buy a bottle of Terralta, but all the bottles had particles floating around in them so I didn’t buy it. Is there a good reason for this or is it a bad thing?
@alphawezen1237 ай бұрын
Thank you for this very informative video! When you say the difference of different Tequilas from the same NOM is the used water, does that apply to all NOMs? Or is it just for this specific case? Meaning at other NOMs, that produce several brands, may differ in other areas than used water type.
@Lui_Fern7 ай бұрын
Every NOM will be different but in this particular case the water source is the big differentiator for their brands. I think I could've explained that a bit better in the video. Sorry about. That

Big fan of G4 here (blanco, 108 & reposado), with limited familiarity as far as the related brands are concerned. Have never tried Primo 1861 and am now wondering whether that label is folding up or moving to another distillery.

I was really surprised. I dont understand how tequilas like these are not more popular than crap like cuervo, patron, julio

I really wish more of these were available where i live. I really loved G4 still strength blanco when I had it, but it's not carried in stores near me. I see that Terralta has a 110 proof blanco, as well, but it's also not available locally for me... so frustrating.
