@UnabashedNerd5 сағат бұрын
@@gerrygleason9340 you could do ginger syrup as soda water. Less tart/spicy but gets most of the flavor

I just picked up 2 bottles of G4 Reposado thinking of getting a 3rd. I've been waiting for this bottle for 2 months. The G4 Blanco in my area is always on the shelf. The reposado not so much.

Love this video. But I have to say that another incredible brand made by Carlos Camarena is Tequila Tapatio, they make an excellent line of tequila in different expressions. Everything from Blanco to Extra Añejo (aka Excellencia) and even a high proof Blanco (110). Great for sipping and making margaritas. As much as I enjoy Fortaleza, I’ve decided it’s not worth the money or the effort it takes to find those bottles these days. Nothing against that brand, it’s a fabulous spirit but at the end of the day, there are plenty of other brands on the market that are just as high quality and are absolutely fabulous. I bought a bottle of Fortaleza Reposado 12 months ago for $60, and now one year later that same bottle is almost double what it was a year ago. Personally, my favorite tequila is G4 Reposado. I agree that the mineral flavor is quite nice with the agave and those subtle barrel notes, it’s a very smooth, richly flavored, natural tasting additive-free tequila that I recommend to my friends all the time. I don’t really drink Añejo or Extra Añejo tequilas that much, because the oak barrel influence subdues the agave flavor a little bit too much, and they sometimes make it taste too tannic’y which is not what tequila is supposed to taste like. So I prefer something that’s aged for a shorter time than a longer time. Because unlike whiskey or brandy, tequila doesn’t require a long barrel aging process.

It All Depends On What You Like...More So Than How Some Say It's "Meant To Be." I Drink Patron Silver. I've Drank It Both Ways...Room Temperature And VERY Chilled. I Much Prefer It VERY Chilled.

I checked the tequila matchmaker website. Where does it specifically tell you where there are additives? I looked up some tequilas with additives and the website gave them good ratings.

Not surprising. His Wild Turkey expression bombed. I couldn't understand Wild Turkey partnering with him to make the worst of their lineup. He must have paid them a fortune. And calling this 'Pants"???? What's up with that? High pressure autoclave for cooking the agave, and a roller mill for grinding the crap out of it.Both are high volume, low quality processes. My guess is the agave is only a few years old at best, as well. No thanks.

So, a little biology: humans are broadly split into sweet and dry pallettes (theres a smaller number of people with both). It is your pallette that determines what you find smooth and what causes a burn. I've noticed a lot of your videos, you denigrate the sweeter tequilas and even comment on how their fans enjoy the smoothness of them. Whilst i appreciate the information on additive free and alternative options, this is starting to feel a bit... gatekeepy?

A general rule for rum is don't drink spiced rum. Very few are done properly, and if anything they've been created for a consumer who loves a cocktail or vanilla heavy mixer. That's fine but I agree that it's not the best of what rum has to offer. Aged rums are a great place to start, and in general starting in the Caribbean is best. Not sure if it is the case in the USA, but Captain Morgan is often not even a rum any more in many markets. It's proof is lower than the threshold that most markets consider a rum to be rum. Probably driven by the boom in rums over the past 10years and not sitting on enough stock.
