now are you holding your breath for something like this? as a beginner, im having a hard time determining when to breathe out vs holding breath.
@myswimpro
@myswimpro Ай бұрын
You would want to hold your breath as long as possible, then start exhaling bubbles slowly toward the end to give you a little bit longer underwater!

If you want to be better at something just do it, maybe this drill is for all strokes like freestyle, back, and flips
@HilarioAntonioPerurena
@HilarioAntonioPerurena Жыл бұрын
Maybe this not makes your kicks bigger, but to control better the breath (you have to try to get to the other side), and to use your core to turn around your own body, and put you in stream line for a while looking for a better hydrodynamic shape... I'm just guessing but the @myswimpro team can correct me or enhance what I mentioned... have a nice day!
@Samsona75
@Samsona75 Жыл бұрын
Sometimes kicking « bigger » can make you slower. What you want to be striving for is a more controlled efficient kick with strong core muscles.
@Swimhuh
@Swimhuh Жыл бұрын
@@Samsona75I used to think the same way and in a way you are right but if you are doing big kicks and going slower, you’re just not engaging your core enough or not using your hamstrings enough. We look at underwaters like dressel, crooks, heilman, marchand (it may not look like he has big kicks but relative to most competition he does), Liendo, and high school swimmer Scotty buff, they all dominate on underwaters because they have built that core-leg connection. Noticing this has not just personally improved my underwaters, but my stroke as well because I built up core stability. Once you build that core stability/strength + hamstring + quad strength. You’ll develop the undulation that only the best dolphin kickers have.

By practicing a full 360, your body gets good at fighting gravity/being hydrodynamic in a similar way that doing bicep curls then tricep curls will makes your arms stronger in a more complete way. Basically it trains your body in a more complete manner. It's also helpful to be able to do this after you flip turn

@lazarddiankson1400 10 ай бұрын
It is. You need good core strength and control to be able to do dolphin and spin at the same time. To say otherwise just shows a lack of knowledge of the bio-mechanics of swimming
@Queenfisher444
@Queenfisher444 10 ай бұрын
@@lazarddiankson1400 there is literally no bio mechanical difference here. You just adjust your streamline in the top half. 0 strength component required here. You shouldn’t be so aggressive on the internet, you belay your stupidity.
