Since I'm an introvert, I did bond with Connor really well and I like him a lot. Perhaps not as much as Ezio, but I would put him in my top 5 characters. I also think the worst thing about brotherhood is that if you fail full synch, you must restart the whole mission. We must also note that Ubisoft Sofia (AC Rogue's developers) didn't make a main AC game before and had only 8 months to create AC Rogue.

I did as well. Plus he's from a warrior society which gave him a different approach than most assassin's in the series. Of all the game AC4 is the only one where I found myself mostly bored with the story and checking out of it. Besides a few scenes here and there not much is memorable. The trailer made me think it was also going to bring back assassin recruits in some way, like Arno was going to work his way up the ran and maybe recruit allied assassin's to the revolution and more,, but if you're a single player gamer like me you're pretty much screwed. Instead you mostly get a love story and the revolution is primarily in the background. Ac Brotherhood did the love story better with the side missions related to it, being both tragic and compelling enough not to overshadow the overall conflict of the story.

@Pooky1991
@Pooky1991 Жыл бұрын
That's what I thought was going to happen because in the beginning I got the sense that Jacob was more of an unorthodox assassin who would utilize gangs like Acheiles did in Rogue and Evie would be the more traditional code following assassins who would take a more stealth and undercover approach. It would have been cool if Jacob used gang members and Evie recruited and used assassin's. Would have added more to the game.

Yeah considering connor was assaulted by Charles lee and choked against a tree for minutes and having to deal with his mother quite literally burning alive all while he was a kid id imagine he wouldn't be the most open. I know this was posted a while ago, but I really wanted to add something. About Assassin's Creed 3 and Connors story, I fully understand your view point on him. And him being nothing like Ezio, but Connor is a character who suffered a terrible experience and most likely had some kind of child hood trauma (But which assassin doesn't have that?) Connor wanted justice and maybe he was dull or maybe even selfish or naive but then again he was still young and never really knew a way to go about things. Connor is entirely a character seen with a introverted and philosophical personally, which he is but is also a person with heart even expressing discomfort after killing William Johnson. He wanted to believe in the Templars and Assassins working together even if it was impossible. We do get to understand Connor more as a person in the homestead mission which really show what Connor is really like outside of battle and away from everything, we can see him be funny,shy,happy,humble,worried and all of the above. It's kinda like when you enter a classroom and your friend isn't there so you become quiet and don't say much,, but when they are there it's a total change up. Connor reminds me of Charles Smith from Red Dead Redemption 2 with their personally. Connor can be dull but it's more of a cover up to how he really is. This probably makes no sense but thats my take anyway Bye!

I'm a Connor defender, he's probably got the drippiest default robes in the whole franchise and his fighting style with the tomahawk is iconic. He's not the charismatic ladies man like Ezio was, he's much more introverted and thoughtful. His arguments with Achilles over action vs inaction, and his interactions with Haytham and the other Templars were the deepest we've seen the protagonist or the games themselves actually discuss the ideologies of the two factions.

I also loved that you could be either a lone wolf, or grow yourself some other Assassins by your side to match the Squad Haytham gathered. I think Connor got a bad wrap. We had three games with a character from birth to his death. He was a funny playboy to start and we watched him grow. Connor had a much different upbringing with watching almost his entire tribe (including his mother) die. That's quite a bit different from Ezio. So of course Connor would have a totally separate attitude. People seemed to me to want more of the same which they did not get. I found Connor to be a step in the right direction. I think the reason the story of Unity just suffered (besides the problems that break immersion like bugs) was because in the books, the main character is Elise ( note: her story wasnt gold like Edwards but it helps flesh her out atleast) but since rogue didnt do well perhaps they didnt think people were interested in playing as templars at all, so instead opted to write it from Arnos perspective but hes not given much to do in the books other than what you see in the games.

Shay's relevance was dropped, the whole conflict of cooperating with templars vs antagonizing them to the bitter end kinda got speedran with the Belec issue, the romance sorta gets no resolution...the whole story of Unity felt like they had to rush it out the door like they had to with the gameplay. I got bored with Unity. But decided to give it a try in the first place because people were telling me it had a good story and good parkour. But i found the story and france to be boring as hell and depressing honestly. I played Syndicate and honestly my favourite thing about it was in the Jack the ripper dlc, short as it was. But you're on point, that game was repetitive as hell. My problem with Brotherhood however, despite being one of my favourite, is how that is when the series started to get really easy with its combat. You felt like a master Assassin sure, but there was no challenge anymore. Same with revelations, but that one just felt so off. I didn't like Constantinople, and i hated how they just jumped ahead so many years, having Ezio just leave Italy behind all of a sudden. Rogue had an amazing story in my opinion, but gameplay wise it did mostly feel like Black Flag, except that now you kill Assassin's instead and some can ambush you. I loved seeing more of Haytham, but Shay felt like i character i could connect to, as i've been ostracized and treated poorly in the past for pointing out how wrong some peoples behaviors are in places like a martial arts club where there often is an arrogant cult like mentality going on. The last one i've played was Odyssey. It's a fun game if you ignore the historical inaccuracies, and how ridiculous the powers you can get are. But it took me about 20 hours or so to actually enjoy the story and gameplay. A game should never be like that.

I not agree with Unity. I think one of the problems with AC3 is that the story centers too much in the american revolution. Is a game about the revolution with an Assassin, not a game about an Assassin in the american revolution. That is one of the reasons Connor failed as a protagonist, he was not the important thing in the story, the revolution was. Unity do that thing perfectly in my opinion, is the story of an assassin in the french revolution, the time period is relevant in the story but the game centers in Arno. Not liking the story is a completely valid opinion, but wanting that the story centered more in the revolution story for me is a mistake.

I can fully agree with you regarding Unity. Ubisoft had great potential to make a great game during the French Revolution, but the storyline was just hopeless. Instead of focusing on the Revolution or the fight against the Templars, Arno was chasing a girl who, in addition, was the daughter of a Templar. For me, the plot based on a love story was terrible. Having seen the Unity teaser myself, I thought the French Revolution would be the 'theme' of the game, but as you can see it became just a background.

The one thing they could’ve done with Unity to’ve made it a better story: include Shay and make the FINAL boss fight mission: Shay vs. Arno with Arno happily saying to Shay: “I make my own luck too and THIS is what you get for killing my father!!!” (*Proceeds to insert the hidden blade into Shay’s throat*) and then, the WHOLE time, Elyse is watching without Arno knowing she’s there and then she says something to him as he takes the hidden blade out of Shay’s throat and she says: “Arno, you did it!!!!” And then they embrace and the scene cuts to a final cutscene like the original story where the actor that voices Arno has a monologue, but in a more satisfying way!!!

And even if Charles Lee did not burn his village Lee treated Connor like trash, innocent child just playing games with his friends. Connor would be a better man if he didn't have Achilles around. To me Achilles was the worst character People dislike Connor because they had 3 games with Ezio so they loved him like he was a real person Odyssey isn't even a assassin or hidden one game it's just spartan So I don't get why it even exists Kenway saga will always be my favorite And I want yo say your making great videos

I at first didn't like the default control scheme on PC for AC either usin right mouse for HP but i got used to it and it actually feels pretty nice and makes sense to me. I feel like the reason they made this decision is because they didn't want to clog the keyboard with too many inputs the puppeteer system is complex with many different actions and u can alter ur profile to have even more options so having it all on the keyboard might end up cumbersome so they moveed armed hand and high profile to the mouse imagine if instead of on the mouse u had to hold a button on the keyboard to be in HP while also having to press many different inputs at the same time on the keyboard. try it yourself rebind the controls and set HP to something on the keyboard anything and see how it feels to hold that to HP run while pressing other buttons to do high profile inputs... it just doesn't feel good and the RMB for HP ends up feeling quite logical. This video is just mainly about AC Unity but it really applies to each AC: kzbin.info/www/bejne/ooWyop2glslpqpY you may think "ya ok i get u but what about just having HP as a toggle? that would surely make it easier to manage right?" for some maybe it would as its really preference but for me its not easier. that was actually an option in the menus of AC1 and when i used it to see what it was like it ended up feeling very cumbersome and harder to precise than having it as a hold input that way u can hold it and slightly or fully release and have that direct sense of analog control. A valid critique of the PC controls scheme is how the whole high profile thing is designed around controllers and being able to have a trigger that can be lightly or fully pressed down allowing a very strong sense of manual control over u being in hp and the different ways holding down the trigger can affect it if u want just a quick little jog and then slow back down to walk speed u only have to lightly press the trigger and release and it happens so seamlessly with toggle u have to press it down then u are in the HP state then u do ur inputs and movements then u have to press it again it's very binary u either are in it or not similarly to how with HP on mouse u don't have the ability to as smoothly shift in and out of HP

I feel the absence of familiar faces in Revelations works in the plot's favor. His sister and Machiavelli are the only ones within the Brotherhood that we know for a fact are still around, and even Leonardo was historically living in France at this point. It really underlines how solitary Ezio feels, having been walking the path of an Assassin for so long that there's not really anyone left but him. It makes his ultimate decision to retire even more understandable.

The whole Cult of Kosmos thing was a huge letdown, compared to the Order of Ancients from Origins. The Ancients were each unique characters with entire chapters dedicated to taking them down and they actually felt important when you encountered them. Most of the cultists are randos that you can just track down and unceremoniously kill. They aren't even characters, they're just hostile NPCs. And I could have accepted that if the Sages of the Cult were treated more like the Order of Ancients, but out of the 8 of them, 5 were given the same NPC treatment. That just made taking down the cult that much less rewarding for me. And I agree about Aspasia. They really could've done better at hiding who she was, or gone with a different character altogether. While ridiculous at first, I actually think Markos would have been an interesting twist lmao

Aspasia being the ghost really surprised me. I thought it was a great reveal. I had remembered the note about the ghost being part of orchestrating Perikles' death and that itself was clear it was her. This was only after I found out it was her. I think it was really smart. She is very manipulative and lies all the time. She is a great leader for the cult because of how great she is at manipulating everything and everyone, except for Deimois, who did a considerable more than her as he began to turn the cult members against her.

I have played AC, AC2, Syndicate and Origins and I really enjoyed how the franchise evolved. About syndicate, I partly understand your comment about repetitive gang missions, however seeing your gameplay, I get why. As for me, taking over the boroughs was quite brilliant as I would enjoy stalking the target from roof tops and use the hallucinogen darts and thin the herd. IT was fun for me. On origins, its surprising many like Aya, but to me she was responsible for the change that Bayek had to go through and I dislike her for that. The VA who delivered the last dialogue for bayek during the last vanilla mission, the pain for the loss of his son, and the dissolution of his family, it was so heart breaking. But Aya was just meh.

I do not understand the AC2 bad controlls. Honestly Ezio trilogy felt the most finished in terms of "I want to go there and character does what i ask him to do". Right mouse button for sprint is weird, but it was like that since AC1 and AC2 did not reinvent the wheel in here. What i hate about it is aiming of the gun or knives. I can understand why ezio stops, but using this weird animus laser and it automatically locking on target is meh.

The gang territories in Syndicate are easy if you play the side quests in the right order. If you do all the races and fight clubs first you can level up your character sufficiently. If you replay the fight clubs and work your way up to level 10, the gang territories are a breeze. If you keep replaying the highest fight club, every two play throughs gets you enough xp to unlock another skill. Until you have fully upgraded assassins and gang upgrades minus the ones you have to unlock through the story.

@@dustinpahel5950 It's different m8 because the other Assassin’s Credd (prior to Unity) don't have levels beyond the improvement of weapons/armor, then you didn't need to spend 5 min beating the bullet sponge character because you didn't sabotage all the factories in London before. Like, in AssCred 4 you could finish the whole game without even bothering to grind to upgrade your ship. Or in AssCred 3 you can finish the game with your starting weapons without much problem. But in Syndicate if you don't roast your ass in the chair farming materials and xp you get fucked in the missions because the characters are level 9 and you are 3. The game has about 10 hours of history and 30 hours of repetition of the same territory missions. The franchise's games became successively more grind and repetitive. But rest assured, I noticed I was staying in the wrong franchise and dropped 2 games ago.

The one thing I hate about Valhalla is the overuse of puzzle. For example boss chest/boss drop item, in any other game they will present to you right after you defeat the boss of just drop it. For some godly reason, ubisoft decide to lock it away and we have to figure out how to get into the boss chest after we figure out how to defeat the boss. Second example one of the view point, on any other AC game you just climb up then activate view point. For some holy reason ubisoft think they need to lock the view point (not all), then we have to figure out how to get in, turns out we have to find a cave. Puzzle is good, but I don't want puzzle on every single thing. You want a piece of armor? Find it inside locked church. Hoho still not found it yet? It is above you, you need to find a way up there. What? Can't take it yet? Well didn't we mention you have to find a key from a guard? Good luck! About tanky enemy on RPG AC, I think I like it. Because I have to figure out a way to take them out without alerting the other, or just let the tank live without them realizing their friends were killed.

For me, black flags tailing missions werent a burden For me they were a positive and logical quests, since you try to pry out the information on templar/assasin ordeal, since you are an outsider. These missions let you explore routes to parkour through city or even maneuver on ship in one of the best missions imo. Its fun to see routes to parkour, while keeping track on your targets (i try this without eagle vision, because otherwise its too easy) For me ACTUALLY the worst part"S" are those islands with NOT ONLY chests and animus fragments, needed to unlock cheats, but also LETTERS AND MAPS NEEDED FOR LORE AND UPGRADES. Like... THERE IS NO WAY TO BOARD A SHIP NEAR, SO YOU HAVE TO SWIM AWKWARDLY... And you have to look out for islands, because they are not marked on your map... Its time consuming and actually painful. Oh... Ohohoh... And the worst of ubisoft are of course the blood and sweat the MANAGMENT and BUISNESS teams "put" into these games- the laziest DLC's known to humankind. They are not only sad, but also embarasing INCLUDING Evelyne for how short and underdeveloped it is and Adewale for how just short it is.

I haven't played Odessy and Valhalla and I'm dreading the thought of playing them after having played and beaten Origins. I give Connor's personality a pass. I don't claim to know how social interactions worked with his particular culture but we have to remember he was a Native who (like all of them) got caught up in a white man's war. He's half-white but wasn't raised that way. Then there's the fact his mother died in front of him when his village was burned. That's enough to shut down any jovialness he had growing up. He seemed more world-weary than anything. Throw him into the Assassin-Templar conflict and it doesn't make it any easier. AC3 was truly an outsider story and I commend Ubisoft for choosing a Native as the core Assassin. It helps paint a more complete picture of the Revolution and serves to remind us that it was a terrible war for everyone, despite the reasons why it was fought. I'm fond of saying that if American history buffs were made uncomfortable by AC3, that's a good thing. We shouldn't forget how the First Nations suffered in that time.

One thing I disliked about Origins, is how incompatible the way they made the story is with how it's an opened world. I explored the world through and through, and ended up killing some big enemies at random moments, because I was attacking a spot that was part of the story, without knowing it lol. I remember particularly circling around Siwa at the beginning of the game, and killing the "main enemy" at Siwa just jumping from a roof, thinking I was assassinating some random guard. They fixed it on Odyssey, that much was clear when exploring, you wouldn't stumble upon a member of the Order just like that, which at least drove the story more clearly. If I were to find a complain about Odyssey, would be how some perks made the game too easy, like assassination "en masse" literally teleporting. Seems that Mirage will have a similar one, which is worrying to me because as fun as this perk is here and there, it literally made everything so easy. But taking the game again after long breaks and all, it all falls really easily back in hand, and the parkour, even tho called unrealistic by a lot of people, runs very smooth. And you know, as much as I liked lingering in the world of Valhalla because I loved the mood and atmosphere, I kinda agree with the story dragging. Like, they could have done more and yeah I agree, even tho when playing, I did enjoy the parts that were there and I do like Eivor as a character. I also didn't like Layla on this game, like she became stupid during the Odyssey DLCs and she kept being stupid on Valhalla, to the point of dying and ressuscitating the "big bad" you had finally killed in the main story, only seconds earlier, ugh. Unity and Syndicate, I can't really pick stuff not to like for what they were, except the fact that when you 100% the story, there is nothing left to do, you can just abruptly drop the game and never come back to it. Black Flag lol I *hated* the parts outside the Animus, really some of the worst memories of playing the AC games. Now I feel sad about your appreciation of Connor, to me he was a compelling protagonist to a game, and I really liked that they dared straying from Ezio's personality. It wouldn't have worked to create a character similar to Ezio, and when they did, they did it well considering Connor's story and literal oppression all of his life. And as someone who has started the AC saga with Black Flag, so some open-worldish stuff, I really struggled appreciating AC1 to end of Ezio's era because of how you lack the freedom of exploring stuff on your own.

On unity i think the repetiveness of the story missions, all assassinations i did was getting in a palace or something, killing a bunch of guards and finally kill the target, no originality

If I was asked what exact thing I didn't like about Assassin's Creed Brotherhood, I would probably just sit down, stare into a wall and think for 10 minutes before choosing the perfect thing out of tens of them
