Dear Chase, I've been following your reaction video's for a while now and I really enjoy them. At the end of this video you said something that triggered me instantly. You where talking about the way that you listen to music and how it might deviate from the way most people listen to music. I recognise this feeling and also believe to have seen this before in your video's. The movements and twitches that you have when you listen to a song reminded me instantly of my own way of listening to music. Paying attention to all those little details and able to filter specific layers out of the mass. I believe we have this in common and it's a huge reason why I enjoy your video's this much. I usually do not speak out this openly in this way to anyone about something that (for me) is a very personal and intimate part of my life. Which is my love for music. But I felt the need to share with you, and maybe also other listeners, that I (think I) understand you and that I feel the music in a somewhat simular way. Untill now, I thought that I was weird and the odd one out because nobody ever understands me when I talk about those little details. Not even fellow musicians. It sooths me to know that I'm not alone in this. Thank you for sharing your unique way of listening with others in this very strong and respectfull way. I appreciate you so much for this. Well, after all the above. There is ofcourse no doubt that I love Sleep Token's music as much as you do. And this song is one of the best ones in my opinion. Keep doing what you do my friend. You do it so well. Thank you. Rick.

I’ve never had an album that I loved every some on except for one, being Pink Floyd (Pulse on Vinyl 👌), but this blows them out of the water for me

More than anything I appreciate your comment on not getting caught up in wild theories. I think the secrecy aspect of this band helps create that idolizing, parasocial relationship, where the band members are seen as these higher, enlightened beings. If you think I'm exaggerating, look at the comment section under any Sleep Token fan video. Vessel is one hell of an artist - one of the very best in recent years, I'd dare say - but there's a person behind the mask. Let the band do their thing, don't pry into their personal lives, and just enjoy the music. That's what we're all here for.

This is one of the most gut wrenching pieces of music I have ever heard. Vessel's scream at the breakdown right before, "You make me wish I could disappear," somehow feels like it encapsulates all of my pain and anguish I've ever experienced in my life and puts it into one perfect sound. It just fucking HURTS to hear him scream like that, yet I have never felt more seen by any singer.

So agree, the fact that even if you've heard a lot of their music and you know a lot of their ability to different genres/approaches, there is still this...unknown, and you don't know what's coming next. As soon as you think you've got a hold of the rhythm or the groove, there's the chance it will shift COMPLETELY. And it doesn't throw you off badly...the little breaks absolutely bring that joy, that moment of "ooooo!!" or "wow" or even "huh, wasn't expecting that".

I feel as though a lot of the trilogy had been planned long ago, so I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they already have many ideas on where it goes next. Whatever they decide, I’ll be here for it. I’ve never come across a band where it’s so easy to tell that every nuance is purposefully done and how they’ve mastered the use of multiple genres to create the different emotions, and seamlessly too. They deserve every bit of success.

Chase, I have to comment how excited I was to see your reaction to this song. I watch a lot of Sleep token reactions but your articulate thoughts have actually shaped my own personal journey with this band. When listening to them I now regularly think of your comments, such as how they create a sense of space in a "room" then blow the roof off; how they take a core musical idea and run with it; or how they continually subvert expectations and challenge us as listeners. Thank you Chase, for your unique and insightful perspectives.

Chase, thank you for this! You make a very interesting point about keeping this band a secret for yourself and guarding it (paraphrasing). I have listened to their older music, and when the singles came out for TMBTE I only listened to them when I was alone. Only at that time the only other people I have "shared" this experience with are reactors. Even my wife had not been exposed to them until the album had come out. And even then, it wasn't until after I had listened to the album twice through that we we went on a drive and I had her hear the album. She was floored and it gave me so much joy at that point that I could have that to share with her. It's an experience.

Haha similar experience here, went on a 6 hour road trip last month and played the whole trilogy all the way through. Hey Chase, fantastic reaction mate, not only to this track but the enitirety of Take Me Back to Eden, I'm always absolutely amazed by how Sleep Token can capture so many people with their music while simultaneously blending multiple genres that would stereotypically be a turn off for a fan of each. I was wondering whether you would consider doing further reactions to Thornhill and thier catalog, specifcally from their The Dark Pool or Heroine albums, because I absolutely adore their astomospheric style of metal and their craftsmanship are top notch and I feel like they are more unknown than they should be to the wider metal/music audience. I hope all is going well and wish you the best!

Something that struck me the first time I heard this was the concept of dissonance and resolution. While everything is pretty much straightforward in note choice, there is a broader compositional dissonance between the introduction and verse that doesn’t really get resolved until the vocal harmonies kick up therein; and then, because repetition legitimizes, the carry-through suddenly blends. It’s an interesting choice. Anyway, as you were.
