Oh man, Brian played the straight ahead stuff early on in his career and was already, at the age of 23 or so, a master at it. Here’s one of the highlight concerts from one of the first gigs he had with Redman because of their album ‘Moodswing’. Mehldau was using heroine at that time and plays the most amazing swinging creations ever know to man. Enjoy! Very anodyne, over-produced line up...my opinion at least comparing it to the fireworks by tony williams, hancock, carter
