For me, the only players that are untouchable are Elly de la Cruz, Rhett Lowder, Hunter Greene, and Tyler Stephenson. And depending on what catcher we could get back, Stephenson could be on the block too. I don’t want to see Spencer Steer go, but he is not on the no touch list for me.

Steer and McLain are core players for this team. They can't be traded!

@ I don’t want to trade them, but they are not untouchable for me. We truly do not know what we have with McLain. He has had one good year and an injured year. We also truly do not know what we fully have with steer.

One blog was blue-skying the idea of signing Joc Pederson and trading for Chas McCormick ... if we HAVE to stay on the cheap side, how much of the void does that mix fill?
@mattrinehart995422 күн бұрын
None, Mccormick has zero value. 5hr and a .211 average helps nobody.

I dont think many people are seeing the Cubs as any threat if they know the game. They just traded away Bellinger so they really are only a bit better today. And if they trade more it will end up being a bit of an even move. Pick up Tucker but lose Bellinger and Hoerner if the rumors are to be believed. The only people talking up the Cubs are podcast hosts on KZbin with content to be made, but these moves dont mean much if you are trading away talent also. I am from New England. Everyone was talking about the Red Sox getting Crochett how much that means but the Sox lost their closer, big right handed bat and a starting pitcher and backup catcher. And they dont seem to be interested on signing anybody else. It will be the same team if not worse next year. I dont see much different for the team at all maybe a game or two shift? So the Cubs signing Tucker is great but without Bellinger and maybe losing a couple of players the team is barely back to even with the signing. That is why so many teams seem so underwhelming. They arent doing much. Pick up a player lose two. It just seems like spinning your wheels on the ice. All kinds of sound and fury but you arent going anywhere.

Reds trade good players? Old school here watched a Yankees VCR and out of ~10 players YankeeGreats Paul O'Neil!!!! I was starting University Chemistry 45 minutes from Oakland....Year???? 1990. Sweep!!!!had to hold my tongue as the Prof. going on in Lab how the A's were "soooo good..." We're a rare bunch from Cincy, We Win w/style and Class....
@mr.e350622 күн бұрын
The are good where they’re at. They will put together one of the leagues best defense under the leadership of Terry Francona. The Reds will win games with their pitching and defense. Pitchers will have confidence pitching behind one of the leagues best defenses if not the best. This is the Reds stretching and the aim for small market teams. I.e Yankees and how it was their defense was their catalyst.
@mr.e350622 күн бұрын
Everything they do from here will be bonus. They do need to address the closer situation. Backup catcher obviously.
@AnthonyFryman22 күн бұрын
They were the 4th worst defense last year. How are the same players (less India) become the best defense? I'd be happy if they became an average defense.
@eliaskraus197219 күн бұрын
Outfield defense is atrocious, infield defense becomes solid with McLain returning, and the Catcher position is average-slightly above average depending on if Tyler Stephenson's defensive improvement is real how much Trevino plays. Overall, the current ceiling is slightly above average defense. I'd love to see a trade for Luis Robert considering he came off of a weak season and he can play above average CF, and it would allow TJ Friedl to play Left field and an elite level
@mr.e350616 күн бұрын
@@eliaskraus1972 Friedl would be elite at LF, Fairchild is an elite fielder. Fraley without looking at any numbers I would say is average to below and above average at times in RF. If were going to get hung up on a couple plays that Fairchild didnt make then we have to look at the 30+ plays that Elly didnt make. Elly missed more plays in one inning, one game than Fairchild ever missed. Fairchild missed about 2 plays. If we tell Steer he is in RF that may improve him.

I thought he hit a lot closer to .280 last year with decent pop (24 HR), which would easily top any Reds leaderboard in avg and would have been 2nd in HRs 😂😂😂 Only Elly and McClain will match Profar in production in 2025, so why not add him ?? He's still better than 85% of this roster 😂😂😂
