Your videos bring me home, being the daughter of a farmer where I spent my childhood roaming in the fields, bringing fruits and vegetables from there and often foraging, these videos have such nostalgia to me, brings me memories I had forgotten away. The ingredients, dishes, the farms and everything, it makes me want to once again get these ingredients and make all those foods- specially the pomelo candy my mother used to make for the family when we were kids. Pomelo is similar to grapefruit, but bigger, juicier ,the granules are really sturdier unlike any citrus, so the texture is more pleasant hands down. It's my all time favorite citrus. Rather quite expensive but available at Costco Christmas time. I would splurge because it has long shelf life, sells out fast. Try shrimp pomelo salad break into pieces, add nuts , lettuce, any salad for that matter.Happy eating🤤😋 Addendum : the red flesh ones are truly sweet, just very mild tanginess, the white flesh can be very really tangy but sweet too. I think Costco have the same purveyor bec so far i got only sweet ones.

I genuinely appreciate seeing cooking that utilizes all parts of the plant/animal. Following a recipe is one thing, but this is true culture. There is a seasonal ebb and flow that traditional cooking follows in all cultures. People learned to use what they had, so they used everything and wasted little. It would be nice if we could all go back to living that way. We've become far too removed from the source of our food.
