Watching this video made me think of a way you can technically win the Champions League with a team that's not only not European, it's not even playing in a European league. In fact, it's on the other side of the world. Hear me out: The french island of Reunion in the south Indian ocean has its own local league because of course the travel would be insane otherwise.......BUT. They play in the French cup. So technically one of those teams could win the French cup and qualify for the Europa League, then win that and qualify for the CL.

Also for Switzerland FC Vaduz is a sick save to do. Basically Vaduz is actually in Liechtenstein so it counts as a guest team meaning they can't qualify for Europe through the league. So your only way of getting to Europe is by winning the Liechtenstein cup but that only sends you to the conference league so you would need to win the conference league then Europe league consecutively to even reach the UCL. I'd love to see someone pull it off and win the UCL.

About the Finnish inclusion: Rops played in the top flight 2013-2020 with even 2 runners-up finishes in 2015 and 2018. Before getting relegated, the club had struggled financially for a while and the pandemic obviously did not help. This year they almost got promoted back to top flight, losing in the relegation playoff to top-flight team AC Oulu. Unfortunately due to the financial struggles they recently announced that they will concede their place 2. Tier and continue as a 3. Tier club, going to be playing mostly young local players.

I'm from Madeira Island, if you want to do the Island save pick Nacional, they have always been the underdogs, a few years ago in 2010 if I'm not mistaken they had an amazing season even getting into Europa League, they once went to Estadio do Dragao to defeat Porto 4-0 but with finances and poor management in the last 5 year they became a yo-yo team, to good for the second division but absolutely terrible when they get to the first division. Also I think that they have decent youth facilities in the game, so maybe you can find and develop the next Portuguese superstar. Edit: I almost forgot about Uniao da Madeira, they had an historic run 5 years ago actually making into the top flight but they went bankrupt, the team stopped existing and now they have been "rescued" and they are in the last playable division in Portugal

The Steaua save is interesting because there are 2 teams both essentially Steaua fighting over ownership of the historic titles and cup wins. FCSB was forced to rename to that after losing a court battle that decided they were actually a separate entity to the original European victors CSA Steaua Bucharest I believe. In game I know that Steaua Bucharest list the titles as theirs, however I'm not at the PC to confirm FCSB claim them also or not. Regardless, you have a choice to make with the save as to who you believe is the true spiritual successor to the European winning CSA Steaua Bucuresti.

However, CSA Steaua Bucuresti is owned by the Ministry of Interns, which in real life that means they cannot get promoted higher than Liga 2 as the rules of football dont allow teams owned by a state entity to take part in Liga 1. Of course FM does not replicate this and you can take in charge of CSA and get the to win Liga 1.

Now winning the league with Brommapojkarna and it’s famous youth academy THATS a challenge especially if you add only academy players to the requirements

Just wanted to throw out another similar save idea for Poland, named 'Forever the Bridesmaid'. GKS Katowice are a team from Katowice, founded by a group of miners, hence the GKS (meaning Górniczy Klub Sportowy, which translates as Miners Sporting Club). A team which saw a rapid rise, and a period of stability as a solid top flight team went from strength to strength. This culminated in 4 runners-up finishes and 4 third place finishes spanning the late 80s to early 2000s, a time in which they also made European runs to the round of 16 in the Cup Winner's Cup thanks to their 3 Polish Cup titles. However, due to the mining crisis, the team fell on hard times. Slowly, financial ruin and crippled the club and after a last placed finish in the 2004/05 Ekstaklasa season, the club were dropped to the 4th division due to financial and legal issues. A group of dedicated supporters took over the club, the 'Stowarzyszenie Sympatyków Klubu GKS Katowice' which saw another period of stability, this time as a solid 3rd division team. In the 2020/21 season, 2 big events seem to have etched a new future for the club. They were promoted into the second division once again, and building of a long-awaited new ground had finally begun, to be finished at the end of the 2023/24 season. Could you be the anticipated manager to bring success to this dormant club and finally bring them the league triumph that has eluded them for so long, along with European success?

Some fun facts about Derry City, we joined the 2nd Division in Ireland in 1985 after 13 years of having so senior football and became the first (still the only) team to win the treble in 1989. We played Benfica in the first round of the Champions League in 1990, and the game was almost called off due to a bomb scare but the local IRA leader and future first minister Martin McGuinness disposed of the bomb himself as was a Derry City fan. And more recently (not sure if the FM database has updated to reflect this) the clubs owner Philip O'Doherty has sold his engineering firm for $2bn and has said that he will invest in the club and want to bring the league back to Derry! Also the BBC did a great documentary about the journey of Derry from being kicked out of Northern Irish football towinning the treble and playing in the Champions League against Benfica. The club also have a great documentary about the Europa League run in 2006, beating IFK Göteborg 2-0, Gretna 7-3 (5-1 away) and eventually drawing to PSG at home and losing 2-0 away.

I so wish I’d discovered Zealand’s streams in the Carmarthen days. anyone promoting the Cymru Premier and with a hatred of TNS is good with me! A few more recommendations for saves in Wales: Cardiff Met: As with Swansea Uni, a university team competing in the welsh leagues, although starting in the Cymru Premier and played in the Europa League qualifiers a few years ago. Can you take the best Cardiff based team in the Welsh Leagues to be the biggest team in Cardiff? Barry - Absolutely dominant in the 90s, beat Porto in a European game in 2001. They went bust but recently got back to the top flight, can you win them a first title in 20 years? Cefn (pronounced as Kevin with no I) Druids - Rock bottom of the league this year, the owner regularly slates his own team on social media for not trying hard enough. Stay up, then build back. The big challenge - download an extended database and take control of CPD Bangor 1876. Bangor are one of Wales’ most historic sides, but went bust a few years ago and the owner set up Bangor City, a deeply unpopular phoenix club in the second tier shunned by the original fans. The fans set up CPD Bangor 1876, their own phoenix club who are now climbing the ranks. Try and get back into Europe, and on the way beat your clubs own evil phoenix club with a fan owned version. Good luck - loved this video Z!
@MrNeko922 жыл бұрын
I started beta save with Cefn Druids (I am sucker for a team with cool name), and got them title in fourth or fifth season, but the first two were hell to survive. You will be pleased to know that TNS only won one title in this 5 year period (Barry and Connah's Quay were the other winners)! Btw. Cymru Premier thropy is by faaaar coolest looking! All in all, Cymru Premier is a really fun league to play!

@@MrNeko92 Class! They’re really up against it this year but the midfield is very close so can imagine that once you get stable you can compete quickly! That’s sad to hear , I know the Scottish game isn’t the lost popular but I think the fact that there’s not such a massive gap financially between top and bottom is starting to help, we have a really young international team and we are starting to create players who are doing well in English premier again , Kieran Tierney ,Andy Robertson , billy Gilmore , there’s a few youngsters at Celtic and rangers the now who are doing well and just in general I feel we are doing ok. We still have local teams, there’s very little of this moving teams to other counties or cities, I always think of that as an American thing , they seem to do it a fair bit, I mean there’s a couple of nfl teams that have had a few cities and a few different names in 20 years . It’s quite crazy to think that that there’s not even maybe a conference team from Cornwall. Little question which Cornwall team has been to the highest league in history ? It’s a genuine question, I have no idea as to the answer , was just wandering if there was maybe a team many moons ago who were in league football or conference type leagues

Good morning Zealand, It was a very interesting video. I would like to share with you my choice for FM22, which is quite challenging and with a very nice background story. So FC Os Belenenses from Lisbon, is actually one of the only 5 Portuguese League champions (and before the champions League existed FCOB played a final of Latin Cup with Barcelona).Their foundation is connected with Benfica's foundation, the part of the direction that wanted to become professional created FCOB and the part of the gentleman of the people that wanted to play for the honour of wearing the sacred red created the SLB (another story line).So Os Belenenses were portuguese champions in 45/46, won the cup in 41/42, 59/60 and 88/89 and were intertoto winners in 75. Among some lost finals and a few tournaments before the 40's which FIFA doesn't recognize.In 2018 the supporters had a huge fight with the presidency, long story short, they were once again divided and still fighting in the courts.The supporters remained with the club FC Os Belenenses but had to start over from the lower Lisbon divisions, but kept the stadium, the name and all the ancient sporting glories while the direction kept the place in the first tier and named themselves Belenenses SAD.So Belenenses starts FM22 with the best stadium and youth facilities of the portuguese 4th tier (Campeonato nacional) and you have the great challenge of taking FCOB back to glory from the 4th tier to the champions league and winning a second portuguese champions title, while having on B SAD the greatest rivals (the other ones are Benfica and Sporting).I am in 25/26 already and I finished 4th in LIGA NOS, trying to climb the wall between the 3 top teams and the others, ithas been a great journey, my favourite save ever, and I have played the game since CM98/99.Maybe if you encourage me I will even start my own channel and share this magnificent save. :D#upthedorfers #FCOBchampions

As a IRL supporter of CFB (the club's name before splitting) I commend you. Never liked the split, never liked the SAD keeping the 1st Tier spot, never liked the REAL inheritors of the spirit of the REAL Belenenses being forced to start from scratch. Maybe I'll try this save too.

As a Hungarian, I really don't recommend Puskás Akadémia. If you wanna do a Puskás-related save, do it with Honvéd, the club he played for. But there are some more interesting save ideas here: if you want a fallen giant, pick Vasas or Győr in the second tier. Paks only has Hungarian players in their squad, you can possibly try and go for European glory with them, signing only Hungarian players. MTK is considered to have greatest youth programme in our country, try to win with only players that come through their youth academy.

I always pick Újpest, as it's my favorite team, really small budget, every penny counts, and haven't won a league since 1998. I also try to achive my dream to build a nearly all hungarian team from a club who has more foreing players than hungarians. I can also confirm that MTK has the best talents, I sign a lot of their players. Lot of fun ideas in our small country :)

Rapid did not really win the German Bundesliga. Up until its formation in the 60s the champions of a varying number of regions would determine the German champion in a tournament at the end of the season. From 1938-1944 Austria (or eastern march as it was called officially) was one of the regions and Rapid went on to become the only German champion from outside the boundaries of modern Germany

Plus, during World War II Austria was incorporated into Germany, as the Nazi regime invaded the country, so during that time Austrian players and teams were basically forced to play under the German federation. Once the war ended, Austria became independent again: I know for sure that the national team was re-assembled, because they used to batter Italy in those years...
@BeWe15102 жыл бұрын
@@pierfrancescocosta6336 True and it went horribly for the national team. Before the Anschluss the Austrian team especially was seen as on of the best in the world but Germany was a rising force as well, in 1937 they smashed Denmark in Breslau (modern Wroclaw, Poland) 8:0 in a performance hailed as on the best of any German team ever. Plus both reached the semifinals of the 1934 world cup, so both were among the favorites for the1938 world cup. But for propaganda purposes the regime insisted on a mixed team, against the wish of the coach. With just a few month left he had to somehow combine two opposing styles of play, the German hard working, disciplinary approach and the Austrian artistic, light-footed approach. In addition, as you mentioned, some of the Austrians did not really want to play in that team at all. The showing at the World Cup was predictable weak and the combined team was knocked out in the first round. Football and politics, especially such politics: Not a good match

It will be interesting to see how financially responsible the full time clubs will be with all this Purple Bricks/Lee Bonis 100K type of money floating around this weather!! I restored my nearest team Lisburn Distillery to the pinnacle of the Irish League, went full time, dominated the absolute shit out of the League and Cups for 40+ years and won the Champions League numerous times using academy products only. It was great to see the dynamic league reputation in action as the Irish League established itself to sit comfortably within the top 12 leagues in Europe where other teams benefited by regularly featured in the Champions League and Europa League as well, however due to the limits of the current National Youth Rating system, (despite having top Youth Coaching and Training facilities) our regen ability was capped and we couldn't go any further than 10th in the league rankings, limiting the national team also....... although it was great to see the odd world class Northern Irish player come through with George Best type ability!!

Another idea for France, you've got Racing Club de France Football. They were founding members of Ligue 1, and have won it once in 1936. They've also won the Coupe de France 5 times, making them the joint 4th best team in the competition. They currently play in the 4th tier of French football. They also play in the Stade Yves-du-Manoir, colloquially known as the Stade Colombes (ok, they play in a smaller ground next door, but they played there when they were in bigger leagues). Now, this stadium was the main stadium for the 1924 Olympic Games, hosted the 1938 World Cup Final, and was France's national stadium until the 1970s. It was also France's biggest stadium capacity-wise until the Parc des Princes was redeveloped in 1972. The affiliated Rugby Union team, Racing 92, have won the French top league as recently as 2016, this being their 6th title in their history. So why not bring both RCFF and the Stade Colombes back into the big time, ok, maybe not a World Cup Final, but why not a Champions League Final?

Puskás Akadémia is controversial for several reasons. First of all, as said it's the prime minister's team. He literally built a stadium and a team in his home village for like 1-2000 people. All this from the taxpayers' money. Then the name. First part is a legend who is probably rolling in his grave having his name attached to such a hated club. Especially since he has no ties to the location of the team at all. And then it's called an academy, something it's never been. The exact opposite, they had the highest average age for the starting eleven for years in the hungarian 1st division. There are several better choices I'd say. ZTE the team that once beat Manchester United in the champions league. Or Fehérvár, home of Mls and Ekstraklasa fan favourite Nikolic Nemanja.

As a hungarian, Puskas Academy is pretty much controversial, funded by the prime minister which is rightly pointed out. They carry Ferenc Puskás' name, which is even more controverisal. That club was founded like a decade ago, and Puskás never had anything to do with that club. He died even before that club become into existence. His name was pretty much "stolen", as he was a player and a legend for Budapest Honvéd when he was playing in Hungary before signing for Real Madrid. He was/is a Honvéd icon. Sadly the arrogance of our prime minister doesnt really have any barriers, the Budapest Honvéd fans carried banners with their icon Puskás' name written on them, and the hungarian FA banned thise banners and fined Budapest Honvéd for it. Thats just how it goes here. Anyways, heres a fun save for Hungary: Maybe some of you fans remember a small hungarian team called Zalaegerszegi TE beating Manchester United in 2002 at the 3rd round of the champions league qualification at home 1-0 (and then got well beaten in the reverse fixture). Zalaegerszegi TE then slowly faded away from the top flight, i think they are a 2nd division team right now. (Not sure if you can pick hungarian div 2 teams in the game). So the job would be to promote ZTE and realise their dream: reach the CL group stage. And beat Man United on the road, or anyone else.

in portugal there are a bunch of good challenges: the first is a simple one - grab the historical lisbon club belenenses , one of the clubs that was portuguese champion, from the 4th division and win the 1st league again. another one harder: go 5 years in the future until the 4th division of portugal and choose a team that needs to be from alentejo region which is probably the most underdeveloped football region in the country, also because is very sparsely populated. a club like vasco da gama de sines or castrense usually shows up. and try not to get relegated, which is extremely hard per se.
