If NWA never existed, hip hop would not be where it is, they are much more important than Wu tang. So first off u have No Ice Cube, which means you take his music, and his movies out no Boyz in the hood, no Friday, no 21 Jump street film. No Eazy E means no Bonethugz, no DOC And No Dr Dre means No Snoop, no Nate Dogg, no 2pac All eyes on me album, no Eminem, 50 cent, The Game, No Kendrick. Also on the commercial side, Snoop, Pac Eminem and 50 cent are the four biggest reasons why hip hop is the biggest genre of music.

Wu-Tang is the greatest rap group of all time PERIOD! First off, RZA taught these producers how to chop soul records. He was the first to sell quadruple platinum using dusty soul loops and vocal chants.("Can It Be All So Simple", "Tears", C.R.E.A.M, "For Heavens Sake, "Bring The Pain", "Verbal Intercourse",,"After The Smoke Is Clear", and the list goes on and on. Before RZA, NO ONE was using soul loops and vocal samples that way. Who bit RZA after that??? The entire hip hop community - J Dilla ("Got Till It's Gone") , Justblaze ("Girls, Girls" and everything after), Pete Rock ("Joy") 9th Wonder (everything) Kanye West (The Blueprint and just about everything after)....Remember, 36 Chambers was recorded YEARS before it was released in 1993...oh and let's not forget about the Wu-Tang 1990 demo which had all kinds of soulful beats on it. Second, the "Wu-Tang Forever" album sold 10 million records WITH NO POP SINGLE! That has never been done by any artist or group in music history!!! Third, Wu-Tang was the first to start a sucessful clothing line (Wu Wear), video game, cologne, movies, everything! I could go on and on.....

ATCQ is my favorite rap group of all time. They had feel good music, stories, lessons, great art and visuals, dope beats, etc. They were one of the few groups in the 90s that had their own lane compared to everyone else as far as content. If i had to choose one to go though its Public Enemy. Groups like N.W.A and Wu-Tang directly changed the main direction of hip hop forever. Yes, Public Enemy is a legendary group and i loved the fact they promoted positivity and were outspoken about real issues, BUT they didnt didn't have as much influence and classic bodies of work as the other three to me. He produced mad classics- Nas- One Love, Crooklyn Dodgers, Mobb Deep- Give up the goods, Temperatures Rising, Drink Away The Pain, PLUS MORE! He's still producing now!....NWA has mad talent, & put West Coast HipHop on the map. Dr. Dre, & Ice Cube alone are legends....Wu-Tang was just an amazing group! WAAYYYY too much talent. PE - Music made to combat injustices among the people and helped change the narrative among the youth at that point in time; Definitely a movement. NWA - Made what is know as 'gangster rap' but fought for the genre against politicians and let people across the world know about what was going on in California; Definitely a movement. WU - So many artist with elite talent in the genre, and some outside of the genre, to be a group and to also exist on their own outside of the group. Not to mention the other sub-groups of the collective; Definitely a movement. ATCQ - Timeless music from a group of individuals that honed a sound that, probably, could never be duplicated as well as these 3, or 4, did it years ago. Definitely a movement in there own right as well. If this were about music, it would be easy to say PE does not belong but all mean alot to the genre. If I would have to choose 3, I would choose PE, NWA, and the WU because of their impact on ME throughout my life.

People need to get the fuck outta here with this "Tribe didn't have a big influence." Tribe and De La Soul (these were the two major ones, though there were several) helped pioneer the alternative hip hop and jazz rap movements that was a breath of fresh air from the dominant hardcore style. The alternative hip hop style is what dominates most mainstream rap. For example, TPAB had some old school West coast vibes but a lot of it sounds very Tribe influenced.

chickenwityamz nah bruh theres no good reason to say NWA....
@erronking77839 жыл бұрын
chickenwityamz hell no NWA was arguably the biggest voice for that and spawned Dr.dre and ice cube when the rest of those groups get a peroid piece than you can say that...

ERRoN KiNG Sigh...I forget Hollywood got ppl on the NWA train now. Public Enemy was way more direct and vocal towards the struggle of blacks more than anyone. Don't get it twisted

NWA stays. Dre=Snoop, Em, 1/2 of 50 Cent, Death Row era, headphones, classic albums, the D.O.C. Cube=movies, Mack 10, WC, Chris Tucker, Mike Epps, Friday, Bye Felicia, No Vaseline. Eazy = Ruthless, Bone Thugs, MC Ren & Yella. Just too much from them. That's why none of the callers from New York dismissed them.

NWA goes because they made hip hop negative with gangs and violence. I love them but they brought negativity to hip hop also.

You're crazy. Plus, this is a weak statement.
@ThaSweetHart9 жыл бұрын
+vmm12 that's a completely valid reason. if people can argue that they changed the landscape of hip-hop, people can certainly speak to whether or not they think that change was positive or negative.

***** And you there sir sound disgruntled. Stop watching the news so much they have you thinking everyone is out to get you! Mind control is a hell of A trance to get yourself out of! Stop being Negative lmao!

I'd have to go with Public Enemy. Tribe, Wu Tang and NWA are all not going anywhere

He's something interesting, if there was no public enemy, there wouldn't be an Ice Cube, the first ice cube solo album was produced by the bomb squad, so he might of not had a career after leaving NWA if there was no public enemy, culturally within and outside hip hop that would be a big deal.... Also if PE was dropped, would there of been a "Do The Right Thing"? all of those groups are so influential, I wouldn't drop any of them.

The one group we didn't need to hear? NWA definitely.

This was easily the hardest one. Not because of skill but because of influence.

They're judging N.W.A on all that came after, but who actually still plays their albums? People still listen to Tribe and Wu-Tang, heavily, so they shouldn't even be considered. So to me it comes to down to N.W.A and Public Enemy. And - despite this being a big week for N.W.A - I think Public Enemy's music has made more of an impact.

N.W.A. may be one of my earliest musical memories. But N.W.A. could barely stay together for more than 1 album. While they did make Street Rap mainstream, they also influenced alot of studio gangstas, and moved Hip Hop further away from it's original mission of peace among street gangs or attempting to end them.

This is hard because all of the groups greatly affected the course of hip hop and that should be the point that is trying to be proved, all are great.

I'm surprised. Without Public Enemy, there would be no Professor Griff. If it was about the music, the group NWA gotta go. From existence; wutang. Each person from wutang can hold there own on there own and still stay culturally relevant.
@elibamyasi6 жыл бұрын
ATCQ gotta go! NWA and Wu-Tang are definitely the most important rap groups ever. And without PE U ain't got AMW and I like the music of PE much more.
@shakingmyhead57688 жыл бұрын
NWA can never go just simply because of their influence on the culture as a whole . The Wu staying because its an artistic masterpiece of a group (yes they were all that nice) , Public Enemy can't go because it brought NWA's message to light to a demographic that wasn't in the ghetto. hate to say it but Tribe gotta take that L ( R.I.P Phife )
@donaldbernadel22929 жыл бұрын
A Tribe Called Quest, Public Enemy, and NWA are the three that I feel influence many artist more than Wu Tang. No disrespect to Wu Tang but Chuck D was dropping jewels to those who wasn't aware of things going on.
