Weird al is the best example of "not having a good singing voice does not equal no singing skill" He has a very nasally singing voice that sound very nerdy, but the man can hold high notes for two minutes, challenge the singing range of people like R.Kelly and Bruno Mars and rap as quick as the best mcs of his day.

I went to middle and high school during the 80s, and man, Eddie Murphy was HUGE. I don't even know who to compare him to now who has the same level of fame. Back then we didn't have KZbin or Netflix, so if MTV aired your videos, you were almost guaranteed to be a hit (as evidenced by the myriad of 80s songs covered on OHW). Hell, there was a hit song about the game Pac Man in the 80s, for fuck's sake.

Life is never truly easy for anyone. Hell I'd argue when you find success, it becomes a bit more difficult compared to an ordinary life. Finding a job certainly isn't easy either and the feeling of having done nothing with your life is something many people feel on a daily basis even if they do clearly find something in their life they're passionate about. That being said, don't lose hope brotha. It may take a while, maybe a few weeks or even a year, but eventually, you'll find something to get you motivated to do many things in your life and of course while a job may not be easy to find, I'm sure you'll manage to have much better luck than I do currently. It's all about patience and hope my man and I encourage you to try your best not to lack either going forward and find something that'll keep you happy in the mean time while you find those things that are missing in your life. Of course I don't know what you're going through currently outside of the lack of employment nor will I pry on such a matter, but nonetheless, I do wish you the best of luck in all you do now and in the future man.

Party All the Time isn't a one-hit wonder. It's a one-hit masterpiece. What Eddie lacked as a singer is more than made up for by the sheer beauty of the music, the relentless catchiness, the way it captures the mood and refuses to let go. Admit it, this is pop perfection, brought to you straight from the golden age of the genre.

The 80s were a different time. The song may be low on substance, but it has an energy that makes it fun, and a party favorite. So yeah, if you're a strict music vegan who only merits music on stripped down instrumentals with a prominent lyric and a heartbreaking message, you're not going to like "Party All the Time," but if you're a normal human you will like it. Again, it's probably not anyone's favorite song, but a memorable piece of 80s pop culture nonetheless.

I agree with you that I love party all the time, but it's still isn't a very good song. It's very flawed in a lot of ways, the versus are very bad and Eddie Murphy's vocals aren't good at all. I think given a tweak or two it could of been a good song, but as it stands, it's not really a good song.

That instrumental James made is great and is perfection on it's own. If James made the song instead it's possible it could have been one of his more memorable tunes. I prefer it to Super Freak myself. Eddie's later stuff is crap though..
