I love these TRAINWRECKORDS videos, this is world class storytelling and research. I can’t wait for more!

Holy shit, I've been out of touch with pop for a while now, but every damn sample you played got me eager. I've definitely gotta go through these.

LMAO i genuinely teared up when i heard the opening of number one. you're so on the money as to why it's a hit. every time i played it this year (am a DJ) the place would erupt, no place more so than my hometown Pride after party.

It was a great year for music, so many great songs by new and old artists. I can't even say what my favourite song was. According to Spotify most listened song was LUNCH, followed by BOAF and Please Please Please. The first place is an interesting choice as it came out so long ago, but nobody have ever listened to it back than, so I can understand it. I like that song too and I love to sing along, but as a straight guy I feel quite uncomfortable doing this 😅 Good Luck Babe brought Chappell to the table, I asked myself "who is this?" and started listening to her album, which became my second favourite album last year.

Me, my husband, and my sister have really enjoyed your top 10 videos over the years and have created a Todd List bingo to play along as we watch. We'd love to keep this tradition alive so long as making the lists bring you the same joy it brings us! ♥

As soon as we hear there is more than one or even only one artist from the 94% of the world's population, 7.5 billion, the not nationally English-speaking regions of this planet, we're right back.

The ending of this video and Todd’s words were insanely appreciated at this particular moment in history when it feels like every single one of our fellow countrymen have turned against us. From our very own government trying to legislate (or just… “order”) us out of existence, to conglomerates and corporations trying to make us completely disappear, and to the people themselves who aren’t doing anything, many of who are actively supporting the cruelty. Thank you for being out here bucking the bullsh!t.

i’m not really a pop music person, i’m mostly subscribed for one-hit wonderland and trainwreckords. but this has been the first year i can remember where there were multiple charting songs i absolutely adored. *really* good year for pop music.

Question for everyone. Seeing one of the complaints of this list is the lack of music videos. What do you think about Good Luck Babe? With such amazing live presentation as the VMAs (it stills give me chills every time). Does it need an official video? Should they use the same Roan of Arc "theme"?

As soon as I saw the video I remembered everything about it, but if you had just mentioned the song to me without showing me the video, I would have sworn up and down (and argued for hours and cursed and thrown things at you) that this was a John Mellencamp song.

I don't listen to pop music, and frankly most of these songs kinda blend together in my ears The backing tracks just sound like a commercial for a light beer or credit union But thematically there was a lot of good stuff here, and I'm glad on behalf of younger folks (I'm approaching 30 and not accepting it) that there's a plethora of interesting personalities out there getting popular That last one reminded me of "Smalltown Boy" by way of "Dancing On My Own" which basically means it's going to live forever in every club in the world

I certainly believe these were the best songs. But that does not mean they are actually good. I doubt any of them would have made the UK top 40 e.g. thirty years ago, on any given week.

15:57 that bar will always make me laugh because B# is not a really note/key/chord. That’s just C Major, whose relative minor key is A minorrrrrrrrrr. Like, how does someone who has been in the industry as long as Drake who probably has a decent grasp of basic music theory think that’s a ln acceptable response??
