Briefly looked into it. Not directly, it seems, but Derringer did do guitar for Weird Al's "Hooked On Polkas" which includes a bit from the Trevor Horn produced song "Owner of a Lonely Heart" by Yes. So, technically they both contributed to a single song, if you want to count it.

@FalconPain6 жыл бұрын
@@princesstamika I'm not sure of the order of events there. I definitely know Lou Albano worked closely with her, but perhaps that was responsible for Derringer's involvement with the WWF, rather than the other way around.
@Djarra5 жыл бұрын
@@FalconPain Yep Lauper was a fan and met Lou in PR when she went to see a house show he was working (as manager of a bunch of WWF heels) and asked him to be in her video, from there she went on Piper's Pit then started feuding with Albano and the whole connection was born. Interestingly 'Real American' was actually first the theme for USA Express a tag team who soon left for WCW so it was handed down to Hogan. Because of Lauper's friendship with Meatloaf New Jersey's own British OHW John Parr was part of the Rock n' Wrestling connection so maybe there is an alternative universe where Hogan had 'Naughty Naughty' as his theme.

@Tom Ffrench I'd argue that they had no good albums. But that is mostly because I don't like them and Good is largely subjective. Objectively, they were a novelty act with average music that a number of people liked. They are not original, they are not inspirations to other musicians and they have maybe 3 songs that anyone outside their fanbase remembers. All that matters for their entertainment value is that people are entertained by them. Certainly does not make them good by any other measure. The mark that Nirvana made is, and will continue to be, their music. The mark that Kiss makes will be their makeup. And I am not a massive Nirvana fan. I like a few of their tracks, but mostly I don't care about their output. What people like is irrelevant to quality or music relevance.

It's so funny that Todd said that Derringer's version of Hang on Sloopy sounds like the Partridge Family because the writer and producer of the original track was in fact Wes Farrell, who created and produced all the Partridge Family albums.

It's the name of a real person, a singer that looked like Sia. She has a song called Little Lulu which you can hear on KZbin.

musicians are always loopy- i find the earlier you hit success the loopier and weirder your beliefs. just look at like Andre 3000 or the Beatles - Lenon got really loopy. it really doesnt matter what they find they always seem to make it like 100% of their lifestyle from that point on as if they found the true way to live- and they just dont hear criticism anymore. I mean fuck B.O.B. believes in flat earth.

"coochie coochie coo' or "Coochie coo" is what one says to a baby while tickling the baby. Hoochie Koo is to live a rock and roll lifestyle, free from worry and anxiety. Being a true free-spirit. a hoochie is a woman who dresses in a trashy fashion. a Coochie is ... well, lady parts.

I seen Rick with the Winter group at my friend's college, back when this song was climbing the charts in 74. Streaking (running naked in public) was popular then and this beautiful blond ran naked across the stage but stopped to give Rick a kiss, before she was dragged off stage... best part of the concert
