IMO a lot of music still sounds fine if you play it in your head with medieval instruments (you'll probz be chuckling though lol). I haven't done this myself but if you take the MIDI files of a bunch of IRL tracks, then hook them up to medieval instrument VST's, with some tweaking it would just sound like it "was" a medieval track (which is likely how these tracks are made). I'm guessing its just because the same scales were used back then as now, so todays melodies can often be perfectly interchangeable.

Honestly, I always thought of the Vikings as more Rock and Roll people. I mean their afterlife for heroes was an epic battle for all time, until the end of the world, which is the mother of all battles. That just screams Heavy Metal, and other intense genres. When I hear these songs, I think more of the English and French peasants, the thieves, bandits, and highwaymen, and all other lower class people who had to fight, literally or figuratively, every day to survive. These songs are either about suffering and overcoming it, or just flexing.

Just a small correction.. the melody of Coolio's Gangsta's Paradise was sampled completely from Stevie Wonder's song Past time Paradise. The main difference was he added rapping over it. Considering its an instrumental version, it would be more accurate to say its Past time Paradise rather than Gangsta's Paradise. Just giving credit where credits due Thanks!

Imagine if we could play these at medieval times, people at first would be like "what the shit ?!" but then slowly would start banging heads like a metal-head, I would really want to know how this would affect the future of music lol

This is beyond amazing! I actually made a Bard for an upcoming game and I wanted him to rap with a drum or to music. Stumbling across this just made my week. I'm gonna write lyrics to match the fantasy theme of D&D and see what they think. They have no idea what I made yet. Keep up the awesome work!!
