I'm fishing the mountain lakes in waterville over 25 years and love them all, and the peace, and having the place to myself, and i have gotten to know many of the sheep, cows and horses along the road. Sometimes a change is as good as a rest.

Wow. Congratulations on your millionth sausage. That's got to be some kind of record? I think you should get onto the Guinness book of records. What a spectacular place you're in there too. It's so unspoiled and there's just nobody around. Absolute bliss. I'm venturing up Scotland soon for a week so hopefully the rod will bend. Same old work getting in the way as usual but life isn't bad. At least the spring is here. The weather still needs to warm up a bit and get those fish a bit more active! Looking forward to the next video mate!👍

Your a wise man Robert. Love cooking and eating outdoors. Food always tastes better. I remember the first time i seen a trangia. I was with one of my older brothers and we were walking along the road near the beech. There was a beautiful smell and there were a few foreigners girls and boys cooking sausages. I couldn't believe my eyes i stopped and stared. My brother gave out to me told me come on but i ignored him. I was star struck and the trangia was the star. I was invited to sit down and have a sausage my brother walked off. I was happy to accept their kind offer. I will always remember that moment. It was life changing. My brother gave out to me said i was like a beggar but i didn't care what he said. I really enjoyed that sausage. Now I'm the fellow at the side of the road with frozen mushy peas sausages tomatoes white pudding rashers etc etc etc and I'm a happy man. Love my trangia. ❤ it. Thanks for watching and for your great comment cheers.

Thanks Barry. The fishing is getting worse every year. Sea fishing and freshwater fishing. Getting worse every year. When the trout fishing ends i always go fishing for cod through the winter. It's got so bad its not worth the effort. I'm in cobh most days and when i see someone fishing i go up to them to see how they are doing. There catching nothing. Met to lads the other day fishing off the pier in monkstown using lug worms. They caught nothing NOTHING!!! before you would catch flatfish place flounders coalfish pouting cod whiting conger dogfish to name but a few. It's soul destroying. There's no mackerel left the big ships have the place cleaned out. 😢 i might take up golf.😂

@@Vincentdonnelly5158 Yep, sea is over-fished and most of the caught fish goes to Europe. Then there's the Salmon farms. You have to stay positive though and keep "reminding" your local Green Party contact to do their actual job- they are in government after all. They tend to pay attention to an influencer such as yourself with close to 3k votes. Anywho, once the temps rise and we get into May, there could be some sport with the mayflies! You should travel up the country a bit!

Heres a random thought. Fishing catch and release you will be requied to carry a unhooking mat and wear soft cottin gloves to hold your fish. To prevent damage. The days of beaching and a whack with a rock, luckily still ok everywhere else.

Redbreast, perhaps my favourite Irish Pot Still triple distilled whiskey with a complex nose, spiced, fruity aromas with wood notes evident. The taste is full flavoured and complex; silky smooth with a harmonious balance of spice, fruity, Sherry and toasted notes. The finish is very satisfyingly long, the complex flavours linger on the palate. The perfect end to a perfect day in such breathtaking scenery. The fish can wait another day.

@@Vincentdonnelly5158 Veriety in whiskey as with fishing spots is the Spice of Life, some like a Sherry butt influence finish to their whiskey, more like a port influence spice finish and more still prefer am American Bourbon oak finish. Others still chase rare vintages in the hope of discovering the Holy Grail, unearthing a long forgotten cellar fully laden with rare unicorns. Like the fly fisherman dreaming seeking out that un fished mountain lake teaming with trout fed by a heretofore partially concealed underground river stream where salmon have flourished undisturbed for eons.

@@Vincentdonnelly5158 There's something so liberating about the thought that you can just pull in to the side of the road and -take a shot- [sorry, wrong code!!] _Have a cast,_ in a place of such immense natural beauty, no gobdaws to ask you "Caught many..?", No gurriurs (hoodlums) climbing all over you... Just the water bailiff... and the midges (apparently whiskey fumes keep'em off!) Seriously though, we're so lucky in this country with the scenery and the wildlife and everything; you could probably pick just about any one of your videos and if you didn't know, you'd be forgiven for thinking they might've been produced by Bórd Fáilte/The Irish Tourist Board! _No wonder_ people save up all year to come and fish in this country! OK, so we don't got the Alps, original variety or Southern, we've no lions or tigers, you're not gonna catch a marlin in Irish waters; but it's a landscape that doesn't need to _show off,_ if that doesn't sound too daft - it's got a craggy, dour quality that is probably easy in a way to take for granted if you're a local, but whether you're a local or a tourist, it gets in your bones, sooner or later. 'O/C' asked were you in Killarney, and I suspect you weren't a million miles away, but I think a lot of people forget that you could be in Dublin's O'Connell St. and you've got gorgeous beaches going 20 minutes in one direction and rough upland country similar to what you have there, 20 minutes in the other... or you could go to Howth, or Bray, by commuter rail, where mountains and sea meet, spectacularly. And no, I'm not being paid to say this! Yessir! Well shot (music very apropos also) an inspiring reminder that we live in a beautiful country that deserves looking after..!
