@@ericdagostino5682 I mean there's been far worse teams. The Jets in 2009 and 2010 seasons actually made it to AFC Championship and 2010 they were a TD score away from the super bowl. They were the NY sack exchange in the 90s and I believe they were also in an AFC title game with Testervade. Teams like the Browns and Bills haven't even won a playoff game in ages and have had ages of playoff droughts.

Sam Darnold has the cool head that publicity won't add to the weight he has on being a future franchise quarterback. Young and a quick learner and mindset to lead when we need him the most. Sam got guts. Period. Man, he will break down defenses these pre-games. Giants is a big one to look forward to.

As a long time Jets fan, this makes me so happy to watch again and again. Not only do the Jets have a franchise QB for the first time in eons but the proud look on his mother's face is what really hits home to me. His pocket presence is amazing and is only going to get better and the team can now build around him, protect him and get him some offensive weapons that he can use on the field. The future is bright in New York. It might not happen right away but give it time and the Jets will once again be a competitive team year in and year out in the AFC East.

I just watched the first drive down the field of the first pre-season game against the Falcons. Sam is the consummate NFL drop back QB, with quick decision making, pocket presence, quick release, zip on the ball, and mature way beyond his years. He commanded the situation from the first set of downs. I like Mayfield's first game too. These guys look just like their college highlight reels. No surprises. Best two things to happen to the league this year. The only question now, will their teammates live up to their standard in commitment and desire? If yes, these could be two brand new teams.

Judging by his demeanor, it appears Sam would've rather been drafted to serve in the second Vietnam war than to be drafted by the NY Jets. As a fan, that was tough to watch.. Let's hope Douglas is a legit GM, because Sam really needed an improved O-Line and big-time WR to flourish in year two.., yet MacJackass failed to address both elements, despite having all that money to spend in the offseason :(
