I think this is the first puzzle I might have completed swifter than Simon (but I didn't need to do any explaining to anyone but myself). Loved the point where I noticed the 8-cage must be a two cell cage and that it saw both 12 so it was a 35 which then proceeds to untangle most of the cells... up to and including the six. Then I saw the three cell thermo and intuitively I thought that would be a 789-thermo. Simply lovely. Edit: 37:26 Simon says "we're still one deduction away, that's my sense..." Which should be that only 39 haven't been placed in box nine. With one of the cells being on top of the thermo. With the bottom two cells of the thermo being 78. And being unsure earlier about where nine could go in box nine. Eventually Simon notes that there is a knight's move on r8c7 making that a three and placing the nine on top of the thermo. Never change. :P

It takes Simon several more minutes to solve, but I was fascinated by the bulb in box 9. Once Simon discovered the coloring for pink 789, and green 789, @33:45, it forces the top of the bulb to be the red 789 digit by knights move, and by bulbiness it forces the red 789 to be a 9. The puzzle is fantastic, with a great many little "tips and tricks" that are useful to know about knights move, fog, and bulb. Well done Meggen033.

Got it in 33:02! Was not expecting to have so much fog cleared once I disambiguated the 12's/34's, but it was so satisfying to see all that board cleared. The break in took a bit of time, but then the rest of the puzzle was a smooth deduction of where everything goes and who everyone is thanks to those thermos. Very enjoyable!

The fact that Simon is so much smarter than me, and so much better than me at Sudoku, and yet still manages to make absolutely asinine *dumb* "deductions" will never cease to amuse me. 36:28: "9 *could* be at the top of the thermo... but I don't think it *has* to be..." The tip of the thermo has to be the biggest number. The other two are already confirmed 7 & 8. What *else* is going to go at the top??? It's sure as summer not *3* !

Knight's Tour is where you place a knight on a chessboard and keep moving it until you have visited every other square once only, so it takes 63 moves. There are also "Re-entrant Knight's Tours" where the final move is a knight's move away from the starting square! It takes a bit of practice...

One of the things I love about really good puzzles is that the break-in is often so clear. I remember the first time I noticed this: I'd done a moderately difficult one (3* at Logic Masters) and then watched Simon, and was amazed to see he'd started the same way I did. I've come to realize that the best setters make them that way. This is even more true of Fog puzzles but it seems to apply to clear-sky/grid puzzles too. 😺

I finished in 46 minutes. This was a very satisfying fog of war. Usually, I end of slowly clearing the fog, but this one kept building up until it finally burst open, revealing a tremendous amount of cells. It was very fun to mark the digits with letters in the first half and coloring the 789s in the second half. I would recommend doing fog of war with the lettering tool, because if you accidently mark a cell, it won't clear the fog like with a number. Great Puzzle!
