When prompted to connect to wi-fi at 7:52, you missed the tiny little text down the bottom of the screen "I prefer to use Ethernet cable". But maybe having it configured for wi-fi will help as a backup anyway in case a cable or upstream switch fails
@LarsKlintTechАй бұрын
Ah, it does too! Yeah, it isn't on the wifi, so maybe it just keeps the credentials for backup?

Nice video mate. I have about 10 Reolink cameras on the farm and use them to monitor livestock they’re good value for $$, funny enough just ordered this one a few days to cover the driveway to replace the single lens as I think it’ll be handy for the same reason you got it.

Haha, that is awesome. I've been very happy with the 4 Reolink cameras I have as well.

Great video and thanks for sharing making them.. Did you end end up using the PoE to power the camera or did you go with the power supply? I wanted to confirm the camera powers fine over PoE.
@LarsKlintTech16 күн бұрын
@@BalThandi you have to use the power supply. The CAT6 is only for data.

@@LarsKlintTech Thanks for responding. That's a bit disappointing was hoping for a 1 cable setup with this camera. I'm mostly ubiquiti but need a camera in the back and this seemed like a much better proposition.
@LarsKlintTech16 күн бұрын
@@BalThandi Because it is mainly Wifi targeted, it wouldn't make sense to have only PoE. You can get a PoE only version of the Trackmix though which has only PoE (one cable). reolink.com/us/product/reolink-trackmix-poe/

Have you connected it to your unifi protect?
@LarsKlintTechАй бұрын
I have. It kinda works like the last Reolink camera. I can't get livestream, but I get historic footage. It also constantly says lost connection, even though it is still recording.
@robertpascale3248Ай бұрын
@@LarsKlintTech can you provide a link to where you were able to hook this in to UniFi protect or on previous cameras? I assume these can have RTSP and/or ONVIF streams?
@EsotericArctosАй бұрын
Reolink seem to have issues with ONVIF in Protect, and i find it is mostly due to the low res stream being H264 and the High Res stream being H265 and not able to be changed. That said, I think Ubiquiti are looking at these issues. We have to remember ONVIF support for Protect is still a LABS feature.
@EsotericArctosАй бұрын
@@robertpascale3248 Reolink have always had RTSP. ONVIF isn't a stream as such, it is a protocol for discovery of the camera and setting up the RTMP / RTSP or whtever stream you have. Don't confuse ONVIF discovery and Streams. These are completely different things. IF you can't access the RTSP stream on Reolink, then the RTMP stream should be available. They are not totally reliable in third party apps though due to the encoding Reolink insist on sticking with, H264 for low res, H265 for high res and no way to set them both the same. This confuses a lot of third party apps.
@LarsKlintTechАй бұрын
@@robertpascale3248 I should really do a dedicated video on this I think. Here are the steps nonetheless: - Enable ONVIF on the reolink camera, which on the Trackmix is under Settings -> Tap camera icon at the top -> Network Information -> Advanced -> Enable ONVIF (not the port) - In Protect go to devices, then click the little question mark at the top right of the screen - In the little popup click "try advanced adoption" at the bottom. - Enter IP address, incl port eg. 192.168.4.33:8000 - Enter user name and password for the camera (which you set up when you installed the camera) - Click confirm, and it should be included in Protect.

How did you find this camera in night vision? I have had a lot of issues with Reolink and night vision. Daytime they seem fine, but night vision has always been a blurry mess for me. With the bright/dark areas, does the Reolink havea HDR option? This will usually even out those contrast issues a little. Object size is relevant to the screen size, but it does also translate to the real life object if you need to reduce sensitivity
@LarsKlintTechАй бұрын
As I mention in the video, it works best with IR for me, as I have other cameras blasting IR too. It is only blurry when the camera moves as expected. I don't have complaints compared to other cameras.

G'day, It looks like you have limited the potential of the camera. It needs to be about a foot futher down the facia board so that the camera can pan around and see along the side of the shed. I'm on a bussy corner block and my PTZ (823) can get confused with multiple people. Ialso don't bother with the app as mi internet is to slow.
@LarsKlintTech19 күн бұрын
Yes, good point, but I didn't really need that side covered, as I have other cameras there. Most PTZ cameras can't handle multiple objects moving. It is a hard problem to solve.
