Thank you Pastor Donnie for speaking out boldly! You are not only a gifted, anointed singer but also a gifted speaker. I absolutely agree with you. As believers we live in an enlightened age, where wisdom, understanding and knowledge is freely available to us through God's Word, and through medical science which helps us. In my family on the maternal and paternal sides there has been diabetes, high blood pressure etc. I am now 55 years old and I have not had any of these health conditions nor any other health issues and I am not on any medication. I decided to make serious changes in my diet and eating lifestyle. This was not easy. Over the past 22 years I worked as a missionary teacher in 6 countries: Singapore, Malaysia, China, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Turkey and in addition I lived in Panama, Colombia, Thailand, and France. So traveling and trying to balance your eating is challenging, because there is a whole lot of excellent foods out there. People not only love food everywhere but they worship food...!!...its become an idol, like a god....there is a spirit of gluttony everywhere you go in this world. But one thing I learned from my parents and from God is discipline. So many years ago I started to eat right and keep food in perspective, enjoying different cuisine wherever I traveled but not overeating and no over indulging - staying away from junk food and focusing on the right foods to enjoy. The Bible guides us into what we should eat and what we should avoid - God wants us healthy so we can focus on HIM and on HIS will and plan for our lives. When I started paying attention to what the bible advises, my health improved so much, I lost a lot of weight and in fact I even look so much younger than my age - and I did a lot of walking as exercise which also helped so much. Now I look for natural foods which can be healing foods and which can contribute to sustaining health in the body. This religious Christian myth that God will heal you as long as you stuff your mouth with all the wrong, unhealthy food is deceptive, misleading and ultimately destructive - did you ever hear of someone putting orange juice into a car and then praying in the name of Jesus that the car will move - that's insanity!!!....the car has been designed to function on fuel/gasoline which enables it to move.. No one is saying that you ought to become super obsessive or paranoid about what you eat, just be balanced, on a daily basis put the right food into your body, which is the right fuel for your body. so it can function well. It is just that I do not know you personally because if I had to meet you one day, I would tell you exactly where to go and get your healing from being Diabetic. You are already on the right path because you are a son of God. It is as easy as ABC. I am praying that you get healed from being Diabetic so that you can live an enjoyable live.

We absolutely are supposed to take care of our bodies, there is no mistaking that, but put faith on top of caring for your temple, and there you have the abundant life that God promised! I SO desire to do better and I feel what he was saying about how hard it is, cuz I'm a foodie too!

that's sad that she died suffering - the interesting thing is - 2 times in 2 weeks I have heard that scripture about "faith without works being dead" under a different context - the context of combining our faith with responsible ACTS of wisdom - interesting point ! I used to only interpret that verse as works being efforts to win souls or feeding the hungry etc . . . now I see that verse with additional meanings

I totally agree that without works faith in God to heal us not gonna help us. I have diabetes. Am in a shelter where the food is not any good. I spend 300.00 of my 800.00. disability to eat but it's not a lot because I cnt carry but so much into this shelter. Not allowed cans and other but I do my best to put my faith out. I'm on magnesium. I walk a lot and that has gotten rid of nerve pain. I'm having healing. Pray for me.

Thank you Pastor for the words of wisdom. But I believe from the Bible that when a person sleep the deep sleep that we call death, the person does not go straight to heaven. They are berried on earth and awaits that glorious day when Jesus shall return and take us all home. If People go to heaven when they die, what would be then be the purpose of Jesus' second coming?

you may be right louis because the Bible talks about the deep sleep, but another reason for Jesus' second coming is to bring those on earth immed to Heaven and to fulfill His promise of coming back and the prophecy of the end times . . .

I'll tell you what, that's the difference between a believer and an unbeliever. In spite of what she was doing, she believed God and He gave her 9 yrs cuz of that! My mother REFUSED to believe God would heal her cuz from Jehovah's Witness religion, she came to believe that God doesn't heal like He used to in the Bible. My mother's cancer progressed very quickly, and cuz she took the doctor's word over faith in God, she died 9 mths after her diagnosis!

Re: Food - I have Insulin Resistance and I agree with Donnie's analogy concerning the "crack addict." Basically, everything I crave is EXACTLY what I should not eat!!! So, I "beat and buffet" this body and make it "my slave" (1Cor 9:27), so that I am faithful in all things to the Lord God Almighty. I agree with Donnie regarding the doctor fact: here's a plain and simple litmus test or reality check: do you use seatbelts? do you use s sidewalk instead of walking in the street? do you use an elevator instead of the window? do you use glasses? Okay. Go to the doctor. Period.

Really: healthy living is a must. But doctors cant avoid giving patients proper info. Just because others dont want them to know they are cancer patients.
