It's rewarding to restore old pieces of equipment and bringing them back to life. Also very satisfying to use something old made new again.

It's so satisfying to see these old machines restored, it really gets me excited to get back out in the shop and changes my perspective on the things I already have; causing me to realize how blessed I am to have them and to take better care of them and restore as much as I can. Thanks!

Glad you got that sand out. I've replaced a brass pump on a skid unit similiar to this. The vanes of the pump have tight clearances and once they are worn its an expensive repair.

garygsp3 Don't think so... If you look at the bottom, you'll see the conection between sections is smaller than a poing pong ball. If you look at the pipe is not that close to the bottom, so I think the level is never going to be that low, and anyways I could wrap the balls in some sort of net avoiding spread. I'm not sure if the level is so visible though. None of these actualy matters because Cody already closed and sealed the tank hahahahhaaa. Thanks for you comment garygsp3 !!!

HeeyCody I saw you were at the rebuildit and you picked up a large fitting and to me it looked like a pump intake filter! If I recall it was the show when Miss W came back from Chicago, Ya might go back to see if it's there....sorry I don't watch Your videos in order but this fitting looked like just the thing for filtering stuff from entering your tank. Cheers' Dan

I am so glad you decided to NOT use the sight glass. I was going to recommend polycarbonate for its strength and HIGHLY recommend trying to find a metal shroud to protect it as well. The big issue with a sight glass is that it is a single point of failure: once its integrity is compromised your tank is out of commission until it is repaired. Not to mention that you saved a good bit of money; I'm guessing the two bulk head fittings cost you close to $50.

i am very very new to your channel, and even tho i am not an handy man (i'd sure love to be one, tho) i love this kind of video, and watching your videos got me to another channel via suggested videos on the left, the other channel is basically a kid (i think he's 14-16) who shows how to recycle plastic and metal scraps to build crossbows, slingshots, knives, he does metal casting and even tho i will never do something like that (i just don't find slingshots that interesting) i love seeing powertools and creativity in action, both on your and his channel. just wanted to share that thought :)

How do you have so much water to effectively waste, I can only imagine that there was somewhere near 25 or 30 gallons of water for the sight test of the fill level, and then all the washing of it, do you have a spring or a well or are you connected to the nearest city water plant?

You wouldn't want to paint that you would re gel coat it if you wanted it red again, paint doesn't stick to fiber glass unless you use etching primer. Getting all those lid bolts tightened evenly would be a tedious task. It is a well built tank it would take a person a long time to build it being its all hand laid.
