Looks a very efficient way to do it, with that amount of leaves in that type of yard. Love it, will give this ago next season. Thanks for sharing. Merry Christmas ATB for 2024

S t i h l makes an 800 but find it better to run to 600 get it done as it does and it's not as heavy as a big blowers is and it does not use the gas that those bigger blowers use

@@easttnlawncare6740 yup I own the 800x and it’s a great and comfy machine! I switch between the 800x and the BR600 during the lawn season. The 600 gets used the most when it gets hot

This guy gets it 💪🏽 I'd say use bigger tarps to run more leaves at once, but doubling up those small ones works too. If we didn't have bulk pickup in the areas I work, I'd have a dump trailer by now.
@LandscaperLife Жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip! I should carry bigger tarps for days when leaves are dry, like this day. That is a great idea! When leaves are wet though, even those 10x12 are too big. They get heavy fast when moist, lol. Thanks for the support!
@Pure_KodiakWILD_Power Жыл бұрын
@@LandscaperLife I hear you, but my 9010 blows some of the moisture off of wet leaves 😂 I've done leaves in intermittently pouring rain, and those were nearly impossible to move ( it was a new customer, and I thought the township was collecting leaves that day, but I will NEVER do that again ) ....Heavy tarps, and/or uphill, and/or over long distance properties, that's where my zeroturns come in clutch 😂
@LandscaperLife Жыл бұрын
@Pure_KodiakWILD_Power hell yeah! It would be different if I had a leaf vac and a machine to pull the tarps. Waaay easier. For my little set up, in a city, I get by. Thanks again!

I used to have over 10 employees and EVERY morning it was something!!!!!I have 3 sometimes 4. employees now and way less stressed and in a better overall mood, at the end im still making just about the same as when I had 10. STAY SMALL the good ole days are never coming back as in good dependable laborers.

In my day we used canvas painter tarps, they always had better resiliency to holes tearing and rips, cost was about equal. However i'm sure these types of tarps work better for others in given situations.
@LandscaperLife11 ай бұрын
Canvas are great! These are just cheaper and they don't weigh much. I replace them every couple years. I get them on sale for like $8 each. If they rip, I don't get upset :) thank you for the comment!
@groundcontrol279511 ай бұрын
I'd be shredding these up first. It makes them easier to move and reduces the volume 10:1. Then, when you're out for the day, the pack alot better, making the transport bulk alot less, as well.
@LandscaperLife11 ай бұрын
I agree. However I'm not putting my mowers through that much leaves. Weight is an issue too. Those were heavy as it is. I have an autoimmune disease that attacks my muscles. I can only do so much, but I totally understand your point! Thanks for the support!

Looks like a lot of redundant work…blow leaves off driveway, put down tarp, blow leaves back onto tarps that are on driveway. Why not just blow all leaves to front yard.?
@LandscaperLife Жыл бұрын
I only blow a few off driveway so tarp lays down flat. 2 sec of redundancy saves a lot of time blowing the whole bunch of leaves. I have to get them into my trailer also so this makes it faster for me. Once you start going by actual time, you will see this saves time. Thanks for the comment!

What do you charge for a job like that
@LandscaperLife11 ай бұрын
@dannyknuth3599 this job is different. It is for an elderly couple. They can't do it themselves so I will only charge them maybe $60 for everything. If this were a normal customer in that same higher end area, $250+ plus disposal.

Just curious.. don't they make leaf /blower/vacuums anymore?
@LandscaperLife Жыл бұрын
Yes, they have big vacuums that attach to a truck or trailer. You still have to get leaves to the trailer. I think it is faster to just dump it in the trailer rather than dump it near the trailer to suck it up. I feel like it is extra time. I will save a little room because the vacuum shreds up the leaves, but I dump once it is over a ton anyway. I hope that helped.

Great idea! I don't have room to bring my Ferris 36" it will hurt my everyday 30" exmark X series. It would save room that's for sure! I'm afraid tarps might get to heavy to drag in my trailer if I fill with ground leaves.
