Couple of things to say about this video: 1- God bless ya Vince, you spend your own money for tools to use for your job and you take the time out of your day to share with us. ____ the haters. I openly tell people I’m Team Milwaukee, but honestly, many of the manufacturers (more specifically DW and MAK) make some great tools also. I ain’t afraid to admit that, I just objectively believe that overall, Milwaukee has the best line up of tools and accessories when you look at the entire ecosystem of products. People that hate on a specific brand just to hate (I can think of a few, ain’t diming them out though) aren’t being honest with themselves or others. Fuggedabout’em! 2- The 800 and 1,100 lumen versions of this flashlight are great! I don’t understand the hate on this tool. I EDC the 800L every day, along with a pair of Fastbacks. 3- Patina or character, the finish will never last an extremely long time if subjected to typical abuse from average users. Mine is still nice and black, and I use it several days a week, but typically only for a few minutes at a time. Haven’t had to charge it since initial charge, still green, kept in a separate cargo pants pocket slot. 4- Haven’t had it turn on by itself but one or two times, and I quickly identified why my leg was burning and shut it off. Not a problem IMO. If they wanted to though, they could change the button press configuration for on/off (2-3 clicks) and change mode (4-5 clicks per change). 5- I agree, they should add a mark to show rotation in the charging ring. For now, shipping it closed is the best solution for now. Personally, I see only the need for light submergance capabilities, such as a bucket or puddle. 6- Should get you to start a new hashtag: #ThumbsUpGang

Highly recommend the olight perun 2 insead, same price and same lumens over 3 modes with a 4,000mah 21700 cell and a 2500 lumen turbo mode, ipx8 rated, magnetic charging, neodymium base and is a right angle light that comes with a headlamp strap, had mine for a year never skipped a beat. Also has a sensor so if the button gets hit in ur picket it will turn itself off after 30 seconds, AND vibrates every 30 seconds once it gets below 10% battery, its a flood light so its ment to illuminate the entire space your in, but i can light up the tree line around my field with the turbo mode, thing is amazing.and a max run tile of 12 DAYS on the lowest setting

Good evening to my Philadelphia brethren. Vince you are never wrong that I have seen; for this reason,”In my opinion”, or” in my experience”. You opinion is not wrong for you. I learn a tremendous amount from you, Nick, and several others I have seen. I have gained a fair amount of insight on procedures, if not processes, even though I may use a different tool or a different brand. You are even handed. You love Milwaukee, but you have identified the collet issue on several occasions. I look to you because I respect your experience. Sometimes you beat Nick in TTRs. I have noticed on several occasions, it was not one tool that beat the other, but several decades of experience versus Nick’s several years. I still learn from him as well. Hello to the crew. Thank you, and God bless you.

I'm a big believer in using a flashlight all the time! The one thing I love about these flashlights is that they can be found at home depot and easily bot. However, if you are interested, there are other brands of flashlights you can find on Amazon that are less cost, more features and brighter. But, they have to be purchased online and shipped so, long story short I love that a powerful flashlight like this can be found in store.

I bought the 1100 lumen flashlight. the first day, I put this flashlight to the test, at work, I used it ones, under a weight bridge, and lost focus of the flashlight, straight away. when I got back to the workshop, on the facility 10 minutes later (ish), my pocket was very very hot, I took the flashlight up and it had formed a little bobble in the lens glass, idk if its plastic or if its suppose to be glass. but for that reason I don't wear it at work, the amount of times I've left my old flashlight on is, a lot. other than that I love it. the led clear light is so nice compared to many other flashlights the capacity is enough for me, running for about a few days can highly recommend it, if you can don't forget to leave the flash on

I bought a m12 1/4" driver for work and after 2 weeks of ownership I dropped it in the snow at a job site while they were plowing. Searched for it for about an hour with no luck. Customer called me back 1 month later stating they found my drill after the snow melted. Still had a full charge. Worked great. Still working 2 years later. Milwaukee will always be the brand I buy now. I might be checking out this flashlight.

@mwestie12
@mwestie12 3 жыл бұрын
@@JS-qi1ou it could be what you are plugging the cable into. Different power bricks put out different amperage. If it's an older one it might only put out 0.5A. When the newer ones are capable of 2.4a or more depending on the type of device it was designed for. All power bricks do say the output amperage on them. Some are just difficult to read. Also computer usb ports don't put out very much amperage either. So that could be a factor.

@pnshr88
@pnshr88 3 жыл бұрын
Lol, I think when they're referring to it being outdated, they mean the type of charging port being used , seeing as how it uses USB-C not Micro-USB. I don't think plug-ins even come in USB-C type porting anymore, due to it's irregularities in electricity. But I can definitely see as how gearheads could feel as though being attacked. Kind of a touchy subject as is the import to domestic debate.

Still using my Nitecore after 13 years and my Arc on the keychain is now... 16 years so I'm good! Eyeballing that Surefire Titan AAA for the keychain though, the Milwaukee is a bit...large. I require waterproof HA-III lights with replaceable batteries be they rechargable NiMH or LiMn 18650/21700 cells for my multi-bay charger. Proprietary batteries and plug it in to the charge is an instant fail for EDC lights--OK for a tool box light but not EDC. Take my Makita battery, plug in the Makita USB charger block on it, plug in my USB powered 18650 charger and go. Time for Milwaukee to step up and...try harder next time.

USB Type C would be nice, but it ultimately has no bearing on the how the light functions. An even better option would be a replaceable battery that could be charged with an M12 charger and external contacts that let you set the whole flashlight in the charger. They've made some updates since you got yours. The lens is now frosted and the button has a ring that illuminates for charge status instead of the whole button. Not sure what else might have changed.

Tool Test Raw! Compare the Milwaukee to say...Surefire, Nitecore and those style lights. Turn it on low, freeze it in water for the first test. Run them over with a truck for test 2 Get a Mohs hardness test for the third test then...throw it off a 3 story building then... because it is fun, you can attach the flashlights to the shaft of a jackhammer securly and hammer away until the light fails. Normally, that testing is done on rails on a shotgun but I don't think you can access KZbin from prison. A Hilti test would be more... VCG anyway, add some industrial tool style to your flashlight tests. Since everyone needs the Milwaukee, I asked my wife if it would look good under the Christmas tree--she said I would carry it for her--firmly shoved up my colon... So much for VCG helping out with the Christmas list.... jus' sayin'....

To defend Milwaukee: Since USB-C has so many delivery options (different voltages and amps) a low quality charger/cable can fail to charge or even cause dangerous issues. On the other hand, micro-USB is caveman proof - if the plug fits, it probably won't burn down your house. That being said, I agree with everyone complaining about it and would be much more likely to get this if if had USB-C. At the price Milwaukee charges, they can afford implement some safety circuits and join us in the year 2021. Maybe they just wanted to leave something to upgrade for the next gen?

I don't hate it, the only thing I don't like is the size for EDC. I don't like having stuff in my pockets rubbing on my knife, I spend way too much money on knives to let that happen. But honestly I could be convinced to pick one up in a few years if it's proven the durability is good enough. Otherwise, for similar money I'd just go with a Thrunite, or stick with the zanflare I got for when I might need around 1000 lumens.

I am a professional painter and use flashligts all the time. Just for checking the plaster or wooden surfaces has no bumps or other defects. I can correct that before painting, saves me a lot of time and angry customer :-)

There are still a LOT of micro USB cables and devices out there. I think jobsites, vehicles, homes, and offices are more filled with micro cables than c cables.

Ok tell me about Milwaukee orbital sander m18, how long are you using it and do you have any problems with it, truth only because I'm Milwaukee guy too. I'm slowly losing interest in to that brand because of some issues.

I perfer the olight s1r baton ii. Its super small with 1000 lumens, a two way deep carry pocket clip and a strong magnet. So small i can just clip it to my hat when i need a headlamp for crawling through an attic. I carry a couple of extra batteries in my tech bag just in case i have to change one but i almost never do.

I love Milwaukee tools. Just about everything I own is red with a lightning bolt on it. But I can't bring myself to buy their flashlights. I got into Olights and Everything they make is just so much better bang for your buck. If I had other red lithium tools I might get one, but I haven't needed anything that small yet.

Not a fan of the proprietary battery, especially since it doesn't really offer more power or runtime than a regular 18650 would. I don't like the side switch either. Too hard to find quickly.
