I took a film photography class a few years ago that had us sit in a pitch black room with a very soft backlight and had us to all these steps plus add in the solution & and count in the dark until the film was ready. Will always be a core memory being in that small room with the smell of the solution and the darkness surrounding me. Fun times.

I’m not coordinated at all in the dark bag so I leave the film in the can until I get it on the reel. If I don’t do it that way I end up with film tied in a knot in the dark. Lol.

Film is more fun Yeah, trying out this new “shorts” feature - you only get one minute of vertical video
@filmismorefun
@filmismorefun 4 жыл бұрын
@@theoldcameraguy is that though IG tv, or here on KZbin?
@theoldcameraguy
@theoldcameraguy 4 жыл бұрын
Film is more fun KZbin - it’s kinda like Stories for those of us with less than 10,000 subs. You record up to one minute of vertical video, then use the hashtag “shorts” in your title and description and YT will put you in their stories and shorts shelf to potentially widen your exposure.

The good old Paterson style daylight developing tank. A great demo for those new to developing film. For some reason that I have forgotten I used to use a hair dryer to warm the reel just to make sure there was no dampness that would bind the film.

Hey I'm developing film soon! I do it all the time, and honestly I already have developed the roll I'm talking about but I am now referring to the roll that will be seen being developed in my upcoming youtube short that I am promoting today. Just posted a teaser today because I am so burned out from posting a film photography short every day that I needed to post a silly teaser where I sing to my dog. Hope you understand. I'm sorry for drawing this out so much and I hope you forgive me.

In my photography class, we gotta learn this, but we’re gonna use a metal reel, cuz my teacher calls the reel that’s used in the short a cheat
