I’m three teams in and agree with Dougie in that SO FAR, he and Zach are playing different games. Zach is saying “I wish each team had signed a great player in X position”. Dougie is trying to propose solutions within the status quo. Zach is playing Sporting Director looking at the next window (and without specific solutions suggested), Dougie is playing assistant manager giving specific feedback for right now. Therefore, my votes for Dougie so far.

Goal not being given is absurd. So bad for Liverpool. But both red cards should and will stand
@DenDave_ Жыл бұрын
@@nikolasavic1525 Honestly i think both red cards are debatable. Curtis Jones went for the ball, as any player would, and he got the ball. What happens is that Bissouma also got a touch, which resulted in Jones' foot slipping over the ball into his leg. There was no foul play, no reckless movement and he wasnt out of control, it was sheer bad luck made to look 10x worse by the slowmo and still image. As for Jota, the 2nd yellow card was correct and just stupid on his behalf. But the first yellow card was undeserved. Udogie tripped himself up, and then even asked for a card to be given, which should've been a yellow to Udogie instead but the ref forgot that rule for whatever reason. Add to that Diaz' disallowed goal, Salah's undeserved yellow card in a dangerous attack, Van de Ven tackling Gomez in the same way that saw Van Dijk get send off against Newcastle. Liverpool were honestly just wronged on 4 or 5 game changing occasions.

Zac is right in that NUFC have lost some of our academy prospects in recent years. Ollie Harrison was highly rated and went to Chelsea last summer and a couple of years ago we lost Bobby Clark (son of Lee Clark) to Liverpool. I wouldn’t go as far to say it’s a mistake by the owners but it’s a fair point from Zac. There is still a big focus on improving our youth though and Ashworth & Co are actively looking at poaching young talent from other academies ourselves (we recently signed an Irish CB on Milan’s books for our PL2 side called Cathal Heffernan).

Joe is right about Villa needing to be more serious about cup competitions and I know that most Villa supporters that I've seen talking about it, are really disappointed about leaving the Carabao Cup early because it feels like we could've gone far in that competition.

I agree with parting ways with hecky if we can get a Hasenhüttl type who would undoubtedly improve us. However i do think we have a chance at staying up if we do that change early enough. About NUFC academy, wouldnt say the facilities are horrendous. They've improved, but first team facilities have been the focus, as when the saudis came in the facilities were byfar one of the worst in the league. Recruitment wise their has been an influx of talent from other academies and the only players we've lost are bobby clark (2020 believe he left) and Ollie Harrison (left this year). Other than that the academy hasnt lost any promising players. We've improved academy recruitment, but the only mistake I would say is coaching but then thats not as bad as what it was.

40:00 As a Liverpool fan i honestly disagree. As much as i love Darwin and the chaos he creates, Gakpo just makes us work so much better. Luis Diaz is a great dribbler and shooter, but his passing into others shooting oppertunities isnt really that amazing so Darwin doesnt benefit much from him. Gakpo is so smart and so effective, it makes the team as a unit function to a way higher level while Darwin is more of an individual impact.
