I grew up with a boat always there. My father’s last boat was a 65 foot motor sailor - he would have loved Steve’s boat! I found this video made me miss my dad so much. You’re right repairs and maintenance are constant. His last huge trip was, Vancouver, Long Beach, Marqueses Islands, Tahiti, Hawaii, home. I was on part of that trip and like you suffered from sea sickness. Anyway, I love your boat and envy your adventures to come!

I used to get horribly seasick. I found the more I stayed where I could watch the horizon, early in the trip, it made it so much easier as the trip went on. Always look forward, and keep your eyes on the horizon, and it gets better. I found doing that when I felt sick, helped also. You have to get your ears and brain in tune to what your feet are doing. Pinching your nose and decompressing helps. Then there's always dramimine or other meds.

Multi million $$$ boat, fixed it with maxi-pads...OK 😅 Michele don't worry about not doing enough of the videos for us my goodness that was so amazing and beautiful to see all those wonderful places most all of us will never get to see if not for you and Steve and buying this wonderful boat and trekking the seas to someday bring it all the way home. The sights and Japanese people and others you've met along the way have been so gracious in helping yall with whatever you needed. The karaoke night was so fun to see yall just relaxing and having so much fun singing and laughing just an awesome experience for yall and for us to see. I just hate you've had to endure so much sea sickness and whatever the flu was you came down with.To take such a wonderful month of sea travel and seeing places so beautiful and to have to be nauseous through much of it is just a shame but your one tough girl as well all know and you pushed through like always. The life you two are living is so wonderful and a dream for most of us but love taking the journey with you through video so thank you so much for doing what you could for all of us. That meal you cooked from scratch was amazing and I could tell that the guy helping with the trip really loved it along with Steve diving onto that bowl of soup. Adventures are great to look back on and they become great stories,we were stranded off the coast of St Vincent's, lost the water pump,luckily,they sent a mechanic out ,fixed it.Know what you went through Mich , loved early in the video when the alarm blared you lost the water into the bilge and Dennis looked up from the helm and said " go back to Port"and Steve's head popped up and he said ,"no ! KEEP GOING " as you were filming priceless.

He initially told Dennis to head back as at first he thought it was salt water coming in (which means the shaft seal gone, which means the boat is sinking. Lol). But he realized it was just the fresh water line, so no big deal. Shut the pump off and keep going 👍😀

Hey Michelle. Nice to catch up with the second leg of the transiting through the Japanese islands. My heart goes out to you for being so sick. It’s never a fun thing and then if you catch the flu on top of that it really sucks. Thank you for showing the extremely kind hospitality of the Japanese people. I actually was in Japan at the end of last year for a couple of weeks on a solo trip traveling around. It exceeded my expectations of how wonderful the people are. I do admit that the Jetlag bothered me after I returned home to the East Coast for a while. Not much to say about it except it sucked. The biggest reward is when you come home and you’re getting all sorts of animal love from your pets. That was awesome. My border collie turned herself inside out when I picked her up.

@BirdYoumans Жыл бұрын
@@michygoss7148 I traveled for the better part of 50 years in various bands but the last 20 or so years I was a solo artist once I became a Gospel Singer. I loved most of it, but at 65 started having some slight memory issues that led to the occasional forgetting of the next line lol. Never being one to perform with words in front of me that led to anxiety that made it not fun anymore so I was able to retire to my NC cabin with my wife where I now still record some and make videos in a small studio I built up the hill from my house. I built it at 74 mostly by myself. Took a year. That's one reason I so relate to how you work. I had built my larger studio in GA much the same way so it wasn't my first rodeo so to speak. I've always enjoyed solitude when I could get it. I loved entertaining, but I also enjoyed my time alone as well. That's when the creative juices seem to flow the most. I'm sure you relate to what I'm saying in that regard. I love your creativity by the way. ❤❤

@@michygoss7148 Most of my buildings I just simply built "out of my head" so to speak with no blueprints or plans other than maybe a floorplan scribbled on a yellow pad. But by the time I did my little studio here I had learned sketchup and I loved it. I was able to design it out of my head still, but got to build it in software first and then had all the dimensions I needed to build it without too much hesitation that comes with standing there trying to figure out the next move lol. I did a video of the sketchup plan on my wood channel which never got a lot of attention after the music channel exploded and I realized that was the channel I needed to work on since music is my first love anyway. Wood working is a close second tho. But here is a video from the wood channel, no fancy editing like you'd see on the music vids, but will let you see what sketchup can do. I figure you might be more interested in that side than the music. And tho I did video most of the build, I only got about half way thru the build videos when the music channel began to consume me so I still need to upload the rest of the actual build tho we did indeed finish it and have used it a lot since then for my livestream vids in particular since we use a lot of green screen techniques. Here's a link of the studio sketchup build if you get a minute to check it out: Keep in mind this is from the wood channel and not my music channel. kzbin.info/www/bejne/anXGg5p7nKhgb8k

Hi 👋, that sounded like a very stressful holiday, what with being unwell/seasick , and probably with your boat, it sounds like it needs a lot of money spent on it, servicing, it’s probably like a lot of things if they’re not use constantly, Things dry up, and then things start to failed as same as humans, a shame about losing your drone, it did look like you had some grate people on your voyage, around the region of Japan, And it looks like they were very hospitable, friendly and welcoming, and at least now you can rest, and get ready to plough on with your next adventure, I presume it’s going to be snow on the ground soon if not already, I had one of the coldest nights here -5°, Stay safe, look forward to seeing and hearing your journey, Phil from the moulin,

I was in the U.S. Coast Guard in the early 1970s on the island of Iwo Jima. We would fly to Japan for our R&R. Despite the war having been over for less than 30 years, the Japanese people were incredibly kind and generous to us. I have fond memories of those times. I'm so glad we flew the 700 miles to Tokyo and didn't have to go by ship. Thanks for sharing the good and not so good parts of your sailing. That's real life. It isn't easy as you have documented. You can be proud of your perseverance to solve problems. Take care.

Glad you made it home safe. What a journey. Love seeing the other side of the world and the nice people of Japan. That was truly a test for the boat and the both of you. Wow! Looked peaceful and beautiful at times but scary with the break downs and terrible high seas and sea sickness. I thought you put together a nice collaboration for this story. You both have made some wonderful memories with your boat adventure. Cheers you are home with your pets!😍

So sad to see you off kilter this video, most of the time a chipper and gunho Michelle, but this vid was way different. I know being sick sucks and being seasick on top of that was even worse. I am glad you are back home in your element with your kitty and pooches (was going to name them all) but this would have been a novel instead of a book. Keep your head up love, I know thats a known and you do too. I just feel weve prob seen the most worn and frustrated (worn out) Michelle weve EVER seen. Please take care of yourself, your home, husband and many furry children. If you need a break, take one. We will still be here when you get back. Much love to you and the Family, Matty

I started my day at 2:45am going on this trip with you guys while enjoying a french roast pour over. My only sailing experience was back in 1979 sailing from Ballard Harbor to Bethel Alaska aboard the Husky II a former LCI Navy sub tender converted to tow boat/pilot vessel. R.I.P. Capn Ron Sumstad.
