Christina, from a mom of 5 young kids to a new mom, I just wanted to take a minute to encourage you that God is big enough to handle everything that you're thinking, feeling, hoping for, etc. Motherhood is often the tool that God uses to stretch us to the point where we realize that without Him we can do NOTHING. I love the quote, "anything that makes me need God is a blessing", although it's certainly easier to say than to walk through😩 I remember having postpartum depression with my first, although I didn't realize it at the time, and being up in the middle of the night with him exhausted and my mind would run through all the "what ifs". I would sit there and think, "I can barely do this. How could I also take care of a 2 and 4 year old, as well as homeschool a 6, 8, 10, and 12 year old?"😳 As it turns out, God always gave me wisdom and grace for that day when I cried out to Him, and I could trust Him with the future days as well. In addition to your therapist, which is a great idea, I want to encourage you to reach out to your Christian friends who also have little kids/babies. It's easy to neglect those relationships when you are swamped, but motherhood is a lonely and exhausting road to walk alone. We need each other to keep pointing each other back to Jesus as our source of strength😁 One last thing, daily anchor yourself to the TRUTH by reading the Bible and praying. I would read the Bible on my phone while I was nursing. We have an enemy of our souls who works through exhaustion, hormone changes, and pain to lie to us about who we are and who God is. Don't give the enemy a foothold... Stay anchored to God no matter how big the waves are. He is trustworthy and He is good!❤❤❤

Haha I wouldn’t say a breeze.. my mom had four children (I am the oldest) and when she had me, she went into labor 2 weeks early and my umbilical cord was wrapped around me weirdly and I got stuck in the birth canal and my mom was in active labor for 34 hours before they did a c-section. We both almost died... Then the two middle pregnancies were good but then my mom got pre-eclampsia with her last pregnancy and my mom and baby sister almost passed away. (My mom had 4 c-sections.)

Christina, you are so amazing! Whatever your worries and fears are that come with being a new mom or anything in general, just remember that God is with you no matter what. He watches over you, your husband, and your beautiful new baby boy, Barret James. He is so cute. There is no need to stress about anything, God has you wrapped up in his hands.

hair loss often doesn’t happen for a few months because of the drop in hormones
@breonawarren15074 жыл бұрын
It can happen with the first kid, and every kid. I read (idk how true this is) a way to lessen hair loss after hormones drops is to take post-natal pills. Like Pre-natal pills but they are supposed to help with the after effects of birth

hey Christina, I hope you're doing alright. It's okay if you're not though. I had PTSD after giving birth to my first daughter and just wanted to say your feelings matter too. I had a C-section and felt robbed about that 'magnificent' experience of giving birth 'naturally', and dealt with a lot of emotional turmoil, flashbacks, etc afterward. This may not be relatable to you but wanted to put it out there, you are important and loved :)

With my first, I had a lot of physical difficulties than mental. I also had an emergency C and it’s TOUGH. Also I’m 4 years pp and my stomach is still numb from my c section! I’m due with my second in January so I’m hoping my scheduled C goes way better! I’m just expecting to never fully get all my feeling back. Haha. Make sure to sleep when he naps/ sleeps!! That’s the only way I got well rested for the first few months. I always slept when he was sleeping. I knew I needed good sleep to be a good wife/ mother and just a good person ha. But it does get better!! It does. This too shall pass mama ❤️

I totally understand what you meant when you said that you and Nick were closer but also distant. When my husband and I had our first child, it felt like physically we weren't as close but it also felt like we were in a club of just the two of us where no one else could understand because we were the only ones who were parenting this particular child. If that makes sense. It felt like we had changed but together and no one else could know what that was like. I don't know how to explain but we definitely felt so much closer, emotionally. Like we spoke a language no one else understood? Argh. Either way, I get it. You guys are both closer and more distant than before, lol.
