oNe mOre cup of coffee, one more cigareTte
one more look at tHings i've done i wIsh i Never did
if peace is what i'm after i'm Going nowhere fasT
and i must be hOlding thiS map upside down
i nEed something that feels solid
thEy live on the ceiling wHen the tail lights fade to black
and it isn't in the lEaving it's in the way they don't look back
what good aRe sEcond chances when the habit's in your blood
what good is Freedom when you can't see your way Out
i need something that feels soLid now.
give me something stronger
but only what i need
hold me under water
send me out to sea
because i need something
yeah i need something
more than one more cup of coffee, one more cigarette
to show me what's worth starting
to show me when to quit
there's safety in distraction so i tooK what i could find
any little thing to hold me down
i need Something
yeah i need something
i need something that feels solid now.

When I first heard this song, I was amazed by how good of a song it was. After listening to it a few (dozen) times, I'm kind of blown away by how amazing this song is. I love every single one of Rusty's songs, but this is, in my opinion, one of his best. I have no words for how much I love this song.

Rusty Clanton i find that music that expresses past feelings is a good way to get over pain because you feel like the song or songmaker relates to you in a sense. your music has always taken me back to times of my first love, it was a painful breakup i almost didnt survive, BUT it reminded me of the good times and that's what counts. you're a great songwriter rusty, i've always been inspired by you from the time you made novels to now. i even tried to learn the song just by the video, which i did. novels is still my most favorite song i have ever listened to in my life
