Thunderstorms forecasted. We got rain to start the first set on stages: Fort/ Main, Quad, Harbor, Storyville. Then gray skies, some sun, some cold, some hot and Newport fog. Well done everyone, musicians, volunteers. Ninety-two year old George Wein was there for the 63rd Newport Jazz Festival, which he started in 1954. This was the first year for the new Artistic Director Christian McBride to take the reins. Christian performed today on the main stage.
