While I believe that Orcas are too intelligent and evolved to be held in captivity (my lay person's opinion), I have to admit that these behaviors are truly magnificent to behold. In fact it proves to me they're too smart to be kept as performing pets, despite how emotionally connected we are to these shows they give us. This spectacle is on its way out, and the aquariums know it. I'm glad these are filmed for posterity.

Has anyone else notice there was a green light during the show, and when tilli was in the pool, there was a red light and there were no trainers on stage?
@Tilikum168 жыл бұрын
Probably a safety protocol, but when Tilikum exits A pool (main show pool) but doesnt totally go inside through the med pool and into the E pool or G pool, light remains red, but a few instances, trainers go on stage even though light is still red.

on purpose???? so a stranger enters his habitat and he's not allowed to defend that? he wasn't the only orca that killed the first...the second was a nut and the third new she shouldn't of been in the water with him....end of day he's a wild animal regardless of how long he's been trained...he's no different than any other wild animal....yet he's blamed because ppl entered his enclosure enough said

so after 6yrs trainers still aren't allowed on stage when tilikum is in the water...that poor beautiful creature 😔 i hate how everybody says he's responsible for 3deaths...the 1st was him and another orca and they thought the trainer was a toy..the 2nd was a moron who decided to swim with tilikum after hours and with dawn she knew she wasn't allowed in the water with him...i hate when ppl make out he's this violent beast of a thing....he's just being what he is 🐬
@Tilikum168 жыл бұрын
+miss Jxx Exactly! im not really sure what happened which resulted in 3 deceased humans, as i wasnt there, but they do live in a matriarchal society, Keltie, i doubt tilikum was the instigator, as again the females reign supreme, he might have joined in, but hes not to blame, i dont believe that "witness Nadine Kallen" who said that nobody contacted her about what happened and yet she was interviewed by CTV, "She tried to get back out and the other girl tried to pull her up, but the whale grabbed her back foot and pulled her under," eyewitness Nadine Kallen told CNN affiliate CTV in 1991. "And then the whales -- they bounced her around the pool a whole bunch of times, and she was screaming for help. link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j5zXf3yEo8l9gpo @1:19 also she said tilikum started it, the females(pregnant) would surely put him in his place, Daniel, that guy had some mental issues, as they put it "he wanted to have a magical moment" with a whale, Dawn, i think she got too close, cant blame dawn as she trusted Tilikum/the animal, and as they say shes not here anymore to defend herself, so its difficult to judge that one, but again cant blame Tilikum either, so i agree with you 100%

+Stan5 That Orcas are much happier and are better off in the wild instead of performing tricks in tanks. I have never and refuse to see these shows. I would rather spend money and time to go see wild Orcas in their true environment
@TheOrcas948 жыл бұрын
Hussain Reacts There better off in the wild based on what? What if you don't see them in the wild?
@hussain19218 жыл бұрын
Stan5 Based off the fact that they live longer, they remain with their family/pod, they have more room to swim, enjoy their natural habitat etc. Remove yourself from your shoes and try to understand them. Can you imagine being snatched away from you family, put into a cage for years, made to do tricks and provide entertainment, whilst living with complete strangers? Wouldn't you get angry, psychotic, agitated, depressed etc? I sure as hell would. Well if I don't see them in the wild I am okay with that. I would rather have them in the wild, than in these tanks where all they know is to provide a form of entertainment for people and/or breed. I am not saying there is no benefit to captivity. There are benefits like healthcare, fed whenever they want etc, but the experience of living in the wild, with your own family/pod, hunting, being a TRUE orca, is something which is far greater than what captivity can offer you.
@TheOrcas948 жыл бұрын
Hussain Reacts First of all, SeaWorld already stopped the shows. Secondly How long can a killer whale live? And can you names 10 orcas in the wild that are living that long. Third 80% of the whales were born at SeaWorld so they weren't from the wild anyways. Fourth, Do you know where their families are? Fifth, I would rather see them in the wild too, but these orcas cannot be released.

Wow, you're back again! So lucky I've got to wait till July 2016 till I get to Orlando, then 2017 San Antonio & 2018 San Diego for Blue World. I wasn't expecting this visit so I need to think of requests fast, right here we go: Could you please see if you can film some construction of SeaWorld Orlando's new ride Mako. Also, I know its a big ask but could you see if you could speak to a dolphin trainer and ask them about the future of Blue Horizons in Orlando since it just finished in San Diego. oh, one last think, please could you try and film the Beluga Whales & Harbour seals in Wild Arctic thanks!
@Tilikum169 жыл бұрын
Themepark247360 lol like i said this was planned, i thought this year would be SeaWorld year for me, as i already went to SWF last January 2015, SWC last April 2015, then JUST RECENTLY lol SWT last July 2015, now doing 2nd rounds lol take advantage of the "Fun Pass" Way ahead of you buddy on the Mako haha i knew you were going to ask to i did a stolen shot under the gate for you, and also the good thing that i almost forgot, both SWF and SWC have a Sky Tower, so you could see a little bit of it from that video as well.... note that they are building it next to the Nautilus Theater, and they also closed parts of the lagoon within the vicinity, you could also see the Kraken while i was filming that stolen shot lol ohhhhh about the Blue Horizons, i am interested about that too, definitely, i will ask, i am not big on Beluga and Seals but will visit that as well, as it is right beside Shamu Stadium.... Thanks for the comments..

I've never seen Trua with both Tilikum and Katina's group in the same show. Interesting. I've read so many rumors about grouping changes coming for SWF, it is hard to keep up. I think Trua might have the straightest dorsal in Orlando at the moment.
@Tilikum169 жыл бұрын
aphroditewitch i know, like i said there was another video sometime in july 2015, i saw Trua go on the slideout with Katina and a few others... like 5 total i think, forgot who filmed it though. but a few shows, including one today, they seemed to have grouped Katina with Nalani and Makaio, then another group was Kayla, Trua and Malia leaving Tilikum in Pool E, the one underneath the covered awning. its good they are making changes kinda copying SWC, SWT for the moment or the time i was there, had Tilikums kids performing most of the time. Including Tilikums first born Kyuquot, Tuar and Unna.hmmm thats good to know, i just see freckles everywhere and i know its Trua.
@aphroditewitch9 жыл бұрын
Tilikum16 I saw Trua performing with Katina and the others in 2012. The rumor is they are having Trua spend more time with the others because they feel it will upset Katina less, when they put Makaio on the same plan of part of the time with Tilikum and part of the time with her. Which does sound plausible. He is getting older and like Trua, Makaio is related to everyone but Kayla. The other less likely rumor is that they are trying to integrate Tilikum back into the pod. He was briefly with Katina and Makaio earlier this year because SeaWorld posted a picture of it. But I have doubts that Katina has mellowed enough towards Tilikum for that to be a regular thing.
@Tilikum169 жыл бұрын
aphroditewitch Cool, where did u hear the rumor lol i feel bad for Tilikum, cause he is huge and slow, not sure about SWT about separations, but i heard Ulises/Corky not getting along, only when Kasatka's around that they behave.. yes i heard and saw that picture too, im so happy for them, but of course i havent and wouldnt like to see Tilikum get raked by Katina and others... what i dont understand is why tili's kids (Malia and Makaio other than what happened early this year) cant be with him, or spend time with dad... probably another Katina thing. any opinion on that? thanks!
@aphroditewitch9 жыл бұрын
Tilikum16 The Makaio assumptions have been speculated about on Tumblr. It does make sense and I think it would be good for Makaio to have more bonding time with Trua and Tilikum. I know that Malia and Nalani are close and usually get a long. So that might to part of the reason, since Nalani likes to spend time with Katina. And they were letting Kayla learn how to raise calves.
@Tilikum169 жыл бұрын
aphroditewitch Yeah same here, i dont know why SeaWorld or whoever desides to have Trua with Tilikum, or any groupings for that matter, in my mind, are they afraid Tilikum would be aggressive towards his own son Makaio or vice versa, hopefully when they took that picture, nothing bad happened with all three of them (Katina/Makaio and Tilikum) i also noticed today that Makaio while at A pool(main show pool) Tilikum was in B pool(one of the 2 larger back pools as E is the largest with the roof over it, the d pool med pool also has a roof over it but is a lot smaller, Makaio kept on stopping by and looking at his dad and Tilikum was looking as well(have to upload the video)how Tilikum ended up in B pool, ill explain lol usually he stays in the G pool(dine with Shamu/SUV) or the large E pool, Aug 14 2015 One Ocean @330pm) Tilikum, after the splash segment, he usually goes through B pool then about to go in the D pool(one of the 2 med pools (but i heard only one with the false bottom floor/F pool doesnt) but tries to go back and successfully barges into the gate that connects B pool to A pool, so, We"re One segment was stalled for a bit while tilikum swims around A pool, then he eventually goes to B pool and stays there for the remainder of One Ocean, until the 5pm One Ocean... Much like when the late Taima( i am not really sure but i have seen videos of them performing together, nothing bad happened, so i am not really sure why they wont let Makaio be with his dad at times, and then be with Katina at times... im not sure what kind of behavior it is but i noticed Makaio doing this a lot with Mom Katina, i took videos as well lol he would turn over and basically put his head/rostrum over Katina's and she would push him gently across the pool, cute but weird, weird cause i i have never seen that with Kasatka/Makani or just would always miss it, nor with Takara/Kamea or any other Mom baby combo... thanks!

@Tilikum16 Жыл бұрын
Hmm, your guess is a safe bet I think, I remember seeing him do a back dive before, bows of course, side breaches, looked like he did a lot of those, Aliens and something what I thought it was only him who knew, like a fan tail fluke splash (not sure what they exactly call the behavior, where he splashes from left then center then right, without moving from his position) Trua knows it too (as Morgan gave him this signal)and another KZbinr corrected me by saying all of them knew this, so I asked a trainer lol not Morgan but I wish I did, next time surely(I will) this fairly new trainer asked not to be quoted lol so I won’t, she was unsure, which was ok, not like another trainer who was so sure Tilikum isn’t makaios dad lol that one is gone now…

Zoos, aquariums, and circuses are great places for the public to contact nature and teach us the importance of protecting the earth. Lots of animal rights activists failed to recognize that good institutions did lots of great things for animals, such as providing medical care, enough food, and breeding program. Lots of self claimed animal rights people only demonize those organizations, and I think it is very unfair for people working there. Lots of people working there has devoted themselves, and they do love their animals. Wild animals will die if they are sick, because no one will provide them medical care. And in lean times, lots of animals will die from dehydration and starvation. Animal rights activists failed to recognize nature is not a place free of violence. The killing in the wild is extremely excruciating for the prey. And if you had learned animal behavior, you will know some animals will kill to eliminate competition or out of hatred for other species. Elephants and African Buffaloes will kill lion cubs, because they hate them. Male lions and male tigers will kill Cubs they don't know in order to mate with females sooner. Most animals are definitely not free in the wild. They have territories, and they are confined to that place because their neighbors will fight with them if they move out. Lots of the fights are very violent and even bloody, such as the fight between large predators. Most animal rights activist portray the wild as a peaceful paradise. That is the biggest lie on earth. The jungle law will not sympathies animals in trouble. The weaker one will be bullied or even killed in the fight for survival. And nature is not free of human influence at all. Most wild places are constantly under the threat of human activities. Lots of endangered species were ruthlessly killed by poachers. Wild animals are constantly killed by local villagers in developing countries. Not only due to poaching, but also because of conflicts with human. Herbivores such as elephants were killed because they eat and stampede crops, while predators were killed because they kill livestocks and even humans. Living in the wild is not happy or safe at all. And it is very hard to survive under those threats. The theory of animal rights groups are not based on science. They are not true conservationists at all. They only exaggerate the darker side, but they failed to realize wild place is no better than the places they demonize. The true conservationists will stress the importance of protecting nature, habitat, and saving the endangered species. The efforts of animal rights activists are not on those important things to save nature. Lots of zoos and circuses actually have bred lots of endangered species, such as Asian elephants, tigers, pandas, etc. Scientifically speaking, those organizations are helping the future of animals. The animal rights activists can achieve none of that. They keep talking but they did nothing to save nature. It is a great pity that animal rights activists are demonizing institutions that not only truly help animals, and conducting research that deepening our understanding of animals and nature. Those institutions has not only entertained the public, but educated us getting more knowledge of nature and remind us the importance to value so many important things. Wake up, don't believe in fake science or illogical allegations made by radical people!
