Your stuff is always first class. It certainly doesn’t deserve a thumbs down. I really wish you were my neighbor. Then I could drop by with a beer-bribe for your knowledge. Keep up the excellent work.

Didn't realize you have same Delta drum sander. Have you been happy? Mine has NEVER tracked well, even after a very effortful Delta repair shop gave it their best shot. No matter how I adjust it, the feed belt tracks off to the right, requiring loosening/moving it back to the far left every 4-7 runs thru w/ boards.
@rhwoodshop4 жыл бұрын
I do like mine and what I ended up doing to get it tracking correctly was running stock through while adjusting the belt because it seemed like under no load it would track fine but the moment load was put down on it, it would start tracking to the right. It is not quite centered but it’s no longer tracking to the right anymore.
@musicbymark4 жыл бұрын
@@rhwoodshop I've tried running it loose or as tight as I can get it with the right adjustment screw and reverse efforts with the left adjustment screw and it always track to the outside, open end. It really stumped the repair guy to who thought he fixed it but he only reduced the problem slightly. Do you tighten the side you want the belt to track toward? Do you have the other side just barely snug?

How did you keep the purple hart purple? Any time I do any sanding on purple hart it turns grey and loses all appeal. I have tried heating it after sanding which can bring the color back out but that comes with its own set of problems. Would love to know any tricks for keeping the color throughout the process.
@rhwoodshop4 жыл бұрын
Purple Heart is such a dense wood that sanding, if done too aggressively, can lead to scorching of the end grain which discolors the overall appearance. Doing a fine sanding that is not too aggressive will take care of the burn marks that you might get from an aggressive pass using 80 grit or lower.
