One of Most Prestigious of the Iconic Thomasville Quail Plantations

Longpine is commonly ranked among the top five plantations for its wild quail, historical, timber, and ecological wealth. The quail hunting traditions that we know today throughout the Red Hills were started here back in 1888.
Longpine contains approximately 6,000 +/- acres and is the western half of the first quail plantation, Elsoma. It was founded in 1888 by Wyman Jones and his wife Salome (Hanna) Chapin Jones. The effect that this plantation and this couple had on the shaping of this region cannot be understated. Based on their recommendations, their relatives and business associates became the stewards of approximately 40 plantations that are still in existence today. They laid the foundation of what today is one of the most secure real estate asset classes in the world. In 1968, the family transferred the stewardship of Longine to Josephine Ford, the only granddaughter of Henry Ford. She was its caretaker for over 40 years.
