OF all the reviews (aaprox 30) I have read and seen on KZbin about this maono mic. I think you are the only who brought clarity about it's sound quality. Best part is that you are right. Thank you

You’re welcome! It’s such a unique sound, underrated mic, gives the voice a rich/full body. The look is amazing too. 😁👍🏻 thanks for kind words!!!

Fantastic, practical review! The Maono held its own against the LCT240 Pro! Seems the LCT240 Pro dropped in price, making it a tougher contest. But can’t really go wrong with either! Darker vs Brighter, as you said.

Just a different flavor! I still love the LCT 240 pro more (like my cookie dough ice cream being my favorite flavor!) but man do I love being able to pull the PM500 out too for some double fudge brownie ice cream-like flavor too!

The maono is 150, the lct240 pro is 98 now (or 119 with the shock mount) 🤔

@@HiNinqiit’s actually on sale for $79 for the mic WITH the shockmount on Sweetwater right now!! That’s a $99 mic and a $40 shockmount for $79 total

@@levelupwithmikenewman maybe it's based on locale. it shows up as 119 on sweetwater for me. I'll call a rep and see if they'll price match it down to the $79.

I use this exact microphone for my KZbin channel. I personally love it. For $150, to me, is a fantastic broadcast microphone.

I would say the pm500 is better for singing, pd400x is designed more for spoken word

You can get a xlr audio interfaces that are really good for $49, the CAD 24bit audio, FiFine sc1, behringer UM2 and the PM500 goes for $129. Great combo. I rarely use the pop filter with the pd400x because of the loom as well, so I just make sure I have good mic placement on it and go with the darker audio setting in usb mode. 👍🏻 it’s a tough one if you like that look of the pm500, but really awesome if you can swing it

Have you used the ac88 from acaster? The Moana mic is about $90 more and Im wondering if it's worth the price jump. The big name brand mics haven't been wowing me, but this Maono one is in big name mic price range so I need to be picky about what I get.

How does it stack up with the maono pd200x or Pd400x?
@levelupwithmikenewman Жыл бұрын
I use them depending on the scale of time I want. Tone: The PD400x is the brightest and cleanest, The PM500 is the darker of the the three, which is great considering it’s the only condenser of the 3, allows you to have more room between you and the mic, but very articulate and warm too. The pd200x is somewhere in the middle, more neutral but still a dynamic. So for my take: PM500 - If you like warm broadcasters sound PD400x - if you like bright/high energy audio, also xlr and usb and can use with the maono app for USB EQ’ing. PD200x if you want a mic you can use for both xlr and usb on a budget, and is more neutral than the other two. Built quality: 1. PD400x (and it’s not even close lol) 2. PM500 ( metal mic, plastic shock mount) 3. PD200X all plastic body and shock mount.

@@levelupwithmikenewman I do like that broadcaster sound but for me to use the PM500, I do need to buy a separate mixer/audio interface,correct? So it will basically become as expensive as the pd400x. But I do like that the pd400x is clean sounding, I just dont like how it looks when you install the foam over the mic. This is making me more confused lol

@@levelupwithmikenewman and for mostly streaming, podcast and maybe some singing, which one would be better between pm500 and pd400x? I could get either at relatively less than 20$ difference and buy an behringer U2
