Holy shit. Garrett Thomas’ point about magic being “advanced empathy” hit me right in the core. I’ve been an improviser for 18 years, creating live improvised comedy for audiences all over the country. I just started studying magic this year. The more I learn about magic performance, the more parallels I find between it and improvisation. The audience is our canvas. So far I am loving this series. Thanks for making it, Nate.

Been thinking a lot about the deeper circumstances at play whenever I'm performing for people at a given time. These videos are some of the most inspirational things--so much so that I'm coming back a year later to remind myself why the hell I'm doing this in the first place. Thank you Nate!

I love hearing these interviews! It's odd; I never enjoyed magic as a child. I couldn't appreciate it until I was an adult. Hearing magicians discuss the art of magic helps me understand why it touches me now. Thanks!

Yeah, absolutely. When the series is done I'd like to go back and release the full conversations with each magician, because there are some great insights in these talks that just don't fit into the show.
