Ernie I’m watching your channel for about 3-4 years now and I have to say you’re the reason I’m addicted to stoves. I own this stove and yes it takes very long to cool down but you’re correct it’s a cool stove!! Thanks for the video!!

I've been hiking, climbing, canoeing, kayaking, etc .since the 1970's.At one time I simultaneously owned thirty (30) stoves (some of them duplicates) of every different type. I lost most of them in a house fire in 2017 and now I have a more manageable collection. I watch all of your stove reviews and this is the first stove that I am tempted to purchase. I already own a MSR WindPro II which is MSR's remote canister offering so I really don't need another one. But like you I do like the flame pattern. Moreso, I like the way the inversion mechanism is designed. If I ever get the IRS paid off perhaps I'll buy one.

Did you do a lowest flame setting test for simmer functionality!!! I will have to say, CampingMoon has some pretty innovative stuff!!!--that's how a company stays alive!!!--Rapid design innovation, quick tooling and first to market are key!!!

I agree a simmer testing video in windy conditions. Would sell me faster. Southwest Texas is always windy.

Once I switched to a remote cannister stove I never looked back, but ones like this with the preheat tube are always expensive. I noticed the pot stands immediately, game changer there. If it will work with one lb tanks I can get it to work with my 5lb tank. Picking one up as a backup for my teardrop trailer.

I like it. I often use a frying pan, then wide ones are much better. Will definitely try this and stare blindly at the flame.

I bought it. It's cool. I guess I need to read instructions on using the fuel stand. Whether the can needs the stand or not. Has worked both ways for me.

The music when the flame pattern started, what a dork. I love it. I personally feel like a remote canister stove should have an ignitor, if I'm trying to save weight I'm not choosing this style.

I got my first remote can stove this winter, a Firemaple Polaris I believe is what it is called. It has a pressure regulator built into the valve and worked well at below freezing temps. I’m sold on the remote style stoves and may have to try this one.
@ajseusa14888 ай бұрын
I 100% agree with you. This is a really good stove. I just got one for myself and I really like it. The design is compact when folded and yet VERY STABLE when extended! It cooks quite well when turned down low to a gentle simmer and just fine when turned up on high. I bought it for motorcycle camping so weight is not as important as it would be for backpacking. The only thing I have found that you have to get "used to" is that it takes a very long time to cool down!

Great stove for car camping in a tiny car. The lightest inverted remote canister stoves weigh 5-6oz, which is still a lot. Would be nice to see a 3oz inverted remote canister stove.
@savagebushranger7953 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'll probably get this for my first remote canister stove. Was going to get the BRS-11, this looks like a bit heavier duty version. Be good to sear steaks with propane, in a cast iron pan.

Big advantage of remote canisters: you can [should] use a separate wind screen which will also keep wind away from your pot. That will definitly help cooking time.

Do the boil times change when running the canister inverted? On my MSR Whisperlite International, it seems to burn much hotter when I invert the canister. I've never done a boil time test to verify this, but there is a very noticeable increase in the "roar" of the stove and size of the flame when you invert the canister.

I would rather have one of the burners with the larger metal case and cheap 8oz butane canisters. Reason: Stoves used primarily in camp. Even sturdier than this stove. Up to 15,000 BTU’s. Self-contained. Butane is cheaper. You’re not crazy, but ease of use, probably longevity of stove and the other pros I’ve listed. Thanks Ernie.

Interesting stove. Not sure such a wide flame pattern is good for smaller mugs-550ml and smaller. The fact it stays hot for so long would be a deal breaker for me. I like to break my stove down as soon as possible after boiling water. With my Soto Anicus that’s only a couple of minutes before it can be handled safely.

You covered up the sound that the stove makes with your music. How loud is this stove? Maybe a re-review with just the sound of the burner burning? Thanks for sharing.
@MillerSean Жыл бұрын
I'm really tempted to pick one up, but I always worry about the quality of the metals in these budget products. The use case for me would be to swap out my Whisperlite for groups/fancy meals on summer trips. That would mean heating up lots of water/having a flame going for a longer period of time which would mean the stove getting hot and staying hot for a longer period. Just not confident that cheap metals will hold up to that abuse over time. One of the recent Amazon reviews has some negative things to say, so gonna have to pass on this one.
@tylerw.9100 Жыл бұрын
I would bet that any MSR or other higher end stove uses very similar metals mined in China...just sayin'.
