Hey Tony good post. No DeWalt hand tools as of yet, this post did remind me, we bought a couple Craftsman ratchet wrenches back in the mid 80s and it still works, lost one years ago, for doing frame tents

I have that dewalt in my hand right now, SAE reversible, and you're right that gear feels solid. I wish they had the 4 other sizes 7/32, 9/32, 15/16, 1" like the 120xp GW which are like $300 no reversible 😮, those are also very nice, I'm going to keep the DeWalt Set and have to buy those extra sizes makes it a lot more. My favorite combination wrenches are the Channellock V groove wrenches.Have held up very well what I put them through for 2 years now.They are sold at any HWI Do It Best hardware stores.Ratcheting wrenches,my SK X Frames.Only had to warranty the 8mm and 10mm so far.The angle wrenches are mainly good for the heavy equipment and semi truck mechanics
@TonyTheTechnician6 жыл бұрын
Walter Frederick very nice. I would have bought the x frame as well if I didn’t already have a crap ton of wrenches lol. But I do love those wrenches
@cowboy412314 жыл бұрын
I have the xframes,in metric , when they work i LOVe them... been wanting to sell this simply because I’ve warranted the entire set! Multiple times, sk warranty is stinking easy. You mail it, the return in 2 weeks, unless it’s back ordered which took them 4 months to get my 18,, 13mm and 19... they lock up , AFtER the job sadly. I’ve taken them apart and freed them up (jamming) because mine are weathered and there’s no grease or seal sadly. But undoubtedly it’s in its own class with 244 positions! Almost no backlash 1.7 degrees, every ratchet feels sloppy after using them!

The v-notch style----I've never seen that with any other feature on the wrench. I like that Dewalt one with the v-notch and the ratcheting feature. I recently learned that that $19.97 32 piece Walmart Hyper Tough wrench set has a v-notch design on the stubbies included in the set. I thought that was pretty impressive. I will definitely be picking up a set.

If you get the chance to review a set of Wright Grips, I highly recommend them. They are made in USA & I have wrapped the head off of grade 8 bolts using the open end. I've also used them on the harbor freight bolts which are very soft medal & didn't round it off. Sheared the head. That might be even more impressive. Every other set I have just rounded the fasteners off.

I need to get my self a set of XL flexhead ratcheting box end and flare nut wrenches. I have a set of normal craftsman combo wrenches and gearwrench reversible ratcheting combo wrenchs allready but need more specialized wrenches. I believe the husky and gearwrench reversible wrenches are all the same tool just with different branding. The Dewalt is interesting because of the additional anti slip teeth on the open end because I am sure the ratcheting end is more the likely the same as the husky and gearwrench.

Tony I never used dewalt hand tools but I’ll check them out. The wrenches I’ve liked best....no sh!t are some standard KMart benchtop raised panel wrenches. Had them for over 10 years. The old made in the USA locking flex head craftsman wrenches are tough to beat

I have these along with the long pattern non ratcheting wrench set and both I have been impressed with, especially for how much they cost. I ended up getting each set for $30. The quality is a bit lower on the standard wrench sets (looks like they come out of a different factory than the ratcheting ones) so you may have to pick and choose the best ones. The flex head ratchet I have from them is a great buy as well... same mechanism as the HF ratchets but without the loose flex joint issues.

My next purchase is gunna be the long box end metric wrenches. I was looking at the Ez red and mountain sets. I’ve also looked at tekton. I think I might go with tekton because of there warranty.

My favorite (and most often used) wrenches are DEFINITELY my Tekton long-handled flex head double box end ratcheting wrenches. Theyre very durable, the fit and finish is great, they have a snug fit on fasteners and they apply A LOT of torque, all for a great price.

Hi Tony great video I'm looking to get a set of combination wrenches I'm just switching careers let in my life. I have no experience so applied at couple dealership for lube techs to get my foot in the door. I been thinking about tekton set but also milwaukee combination wrench set max bite .Any thoughts on these two sets. Do you know any one with the milwaukee
@TonyTheTechnician4 жыл бұрын
Thank you I have heard good things about the milwaukee set. I'm not sure I have seen many professionals using them in the shop. I know first hand the tekton ones are good but haven't personally used the milwaukee ones. The reason I would go tekton in this case is the ease of warranty. I would hate to hassle with a warranty on a tool I use constantly.
@darrenklein83583 жыл бұрын
Tony I’m in the market to buy a new set of ratcheting flex wrenches for both metric and sae. What brand would you suggest I buy? I want lifetime warranty but outside that the best bang for the buck.
@TonyTheTechnician3 жыл бұрын
Tekton definitely has some good ones for the price but keep in mind the box end is 6 point. So if you don't want 6 point. Capri tools has some good ratcheting wrenches they have both flex heads and reversible ratcheting wrenches. Gearwrench also has some good sets but I like to get hands on the gearwrench sets bc some are Taiwan and some are China and it definitely has a quality difference. If you want good affordable ones with a great and easy warranty. I would suggest either tekton or Capri.

You dont use them to crack the bolt lose do you ??
