Dr. Tracy Marks is a really good channel to follow, even the videos that don't target me specifically I would find helpful. I listen to her videos if my anxiety ramps up for no/multitude of reasons.

oldguyFPV; Beautiful! Luv long range! I don't do DJI anything anymore! The company has its head way to far up the FAA's ass for me, geofencing and other electronic restrictions that make me feel like the drone is not mine. I want full control of my drones, don't need Big Brother watching over me. I build all of my own quads now. Have HDZero goggles and one long range drone set up, but hardly use it. I still luv, and mostly fly analog! Never used Walksnail. Good luck my friend. Looking forward to more of your flights. Fly safe, fly free!

Thank you. Me too! I find myself doing more of it than any other kind of flying, especially since I started flying fixed wing. There are so many reasons to leave DJI which kind of sucks because it really has such great image quality, decent range and penetration. I keep trying to stick with analog, where I started but I just can’t do it any more, call me spoiled lol. Thank you and happy flying!

im sorry to hear your going through a rough time right now. the good news how ever, is you dont really need to sell your drones (doubt that was the path you where thinking) most frames are compatible for walk snail. with mounting holes, and silicone pads. walk snail is a cheaper option after watching your vid i checked out the moon light on RDQ its literally the same as the 03 ( a few specs are different) but its the best option for 4k and actually alot cheaper. the only problem i have with it at the moment is its heavier than the 03 im working on the atlas 4 lr and trying to get it under 249 grams and i need to figure out how to shed 51 grams. its currently sitting at 300 grams ( with a 4s 850 mah lipo) so far its lightest drone but i want to hit that 249 gram mark. i want to keep the 03 for good video, ive also sheded most of the tpu minus the antenna mount and gps holder. i dont know how im going to do this with lion batteries since they weigh just as much as the drone its self. oddly enough the 3s lion weighs more than the 4s lion battery which is perplexing to me lol. least with auline. i think the only way im going to hit this mark is with a lower capacity on the battery. how ever i want longer flight times so but i guess im going to have to sacrifice flight time for wieght.

@@WhiteTrashFPV thanks man, just a lot going on with family health stuff and my own as well. That is true but then I still need to part with a bunch of O3’s. I figure it might be easer to just sell the quads whole but maybe not? I need to think about that more I guess. The issue that I see is all the O3 quads are 20mm camera mounting vs 19mm for the walksnail cameras and that means spacers or something. I will give it some thought! You will not be able to go sub 250 with a li-ion of any size that is useful. Honestly I doubt you will with an 850. My Flywoo explorer barely hits it with a 650 for what it’s worth. I currently have the GT, a moonlight and a Pro kit for various projects. I installed the pro in my 10” but even it might struggle with the wind gusts we are having right now! I want to put the moonlight in a deadcat setup to get the full view of the 4k setup. The GT is going in a fixed wing because a quad just can’t take true advantage of the range. If you want to fly long, you wont be light. That being said, not sub 250 but my Flywoo explorer gets 10 minutes on an 850. Obviously not going fast but still pretty good. Unrelated, a few of my flying buddies are going to meet up somewhere to fly Sunday morning. I can let you know where and when if you want to join up and meet some other local flyers.

@smithe68 I would love to if I wasn't starting overnights the prior night. I think Sunday is just straight to bed after work. But thank you for the invite I'm a big fan of the moonlights price point and had all the features I wanted the 03 for. The only thing is that I don't know is if your able to record osd as well in the googles dvr I want a better goggle but I I want dvr capability for the osd that way I can integrate it into video That's good to know about the weight issue. I wasn't really a fan about loosing the tpu arm guards Also I did look into 450s after I made the initial comment. But I don't like the 5 minutes it might give me. Not worth it for a L.R. in my opinion

Beautiful flight with the Explorer, the landscape looks like a painting. But why switch to Walksnail? I would be worried about long range compatibility!? Or am I wrong? Best regards 🫡

Was it an abrupt DJI cancel or were you finally swayed by something? Nice flight, hate the jello... but checks out with the conditions, I should know, I have one as well! 👎
@smithe683 ай бұрын
@@AMS_Dronez sort of a progression of situations that sparked the change. First was range, with fixed wing I am pushing the limits of DJI, second was being able to have a truly small and light digital FPV experience and the final thing was cost. Neither system is perfect but for me it felt right. I thought about keeping some O3 and goggles 2 but it’s a pain running multiple systems. Yeah, the jello is getting to me. I’ve tried ND filters, different tunes, etc, seems like unless it’s a big heavy quad it’s really hard with O3. I’ve been using it since the release and done a lot of battling it, I’m ready for something new, even if it’s not perfect.
