Man I remember when this set came out. First time being able to get foils and alternate art of our favorite old cards. This was when magic was magic. Oh and nice finger condoms. Always use protection when cracking packs like this.

Omg there was alot of good pulls from this box and Dave got so many foils holy molly that’s just bonkers lol. The experience alone definitely made it worth being in this opening. Not gonna lie when I was getting in on this break all I wanted was an elf or two and I got some elf’s. So, I’m very pleased with what I got from my packs. Also I gotta say there was quite a bit of foils in this box which was very nice to see. But as always I can’t wait for more content and again this truly was an amazing experience. I’m glad I could get in on this one.

The way the foil works is that they remove a card from the first 15 cards. Wich ever rarity was removed is the foil. So you can't get two rares. The two packs that were missing a land. The foil was a land. If there is only 9 commons in the pack, then the foil is the common. Used to open a bunch of these! Was is the game since revised and this was one of the last sets before moving on from magic

Really cool box, but seems extremely tough to break even at $111.11 per pack. At that point you could buy the foil rares/chase foils as singles. Love 7th edition, lots of nostalgia for this set.

I opened a couple of revised packs as a kid. This is back when the dual lands were about $15 each. They were like $9 packs and my mom was like "don't get used to these packs, here's 10 fallen empires packs for the same price."

What a fabulous moment, seeing this box break. Keep it up, man! I grew up playing during the Mercadian Masques through Prophecy era, and I remember going into a card shop on the Ocean City Boardwalk, picking up Urza's block packs as a "throw back" lol. Those were the good old days. Love the channel!!

This was an experience, traveling back in time all while in the comfort of my recliner with the TV droning in the background with munchies and drink by the side. It has been many years since I saw some of those cards and then I remembered all of the cards from earlier editions. What is the oldest pack opened? Arabian Nights and Antiquities back around 1994, I was buying individual packs from the local LGS, long since out of business.

I remember starting to know about Magic around that time when 7th edition came out, I bought the starter set with the foil thorn elemental and the two half decks, and I loved it, but was still too young to appreciate it (around 12, 13), now I just look back to those cards and I love how they look, a mix of nostalgia and appreciation of the old card designs, the art, the flavour... something I'm not able to find in nowadays Magic.

Oooh, finger cots! I had to wear one of those for a while after slicing off a piece of my right pointy finger with a knife! 👉😁 So yeah, my LGS has a foil 7th Edition Static Orb that's been sitting in the singles case since last fall. It's somewhere over $400 last time I asked. Yep, those foils in the pre-Modern card frame be totally cray-cray.

Oldest box I’ve opened is Shadowmoor. I didn’t start playing or collecting until Kaladesh. But last year I won a sealed Shadowmoor box for like $100 in a raffle. I opened that baby up, lol.

oldest set i have opened is ice age. i started playing in 2001 when apocalypse, odyssey and 7th edition were out, but the card shop i went to still had older packs for sale: ice age block, tempest block and mirage block, so i'd occasionally buy them.

Oldest set I opened was Dark. I remember buying a bunch of packs after Christmas trying to get a maze. I think they were 6$ a pack at that time. The legendary packs were like $15 and I remember passing on them because that was a lot of money at the time lol.

The oldest set I opened was a Revised starter deck. My uncle found one in his basement a few years ago and gave it to me for Christmas, I opened it and there were 2 Underground Seas, it was absolutely insane.

Oldest set I recall opening sealed packs from would be either Portal or Mirage. I do have a foil of “Thorn Elemental” from 7th edition starter set that had a pc disk and all, I still have the complete starter set box with all its original content minus the Thorn Elemental.

I started in 94 with revised - was broke in high school. Saved almost all of the cards I played with and destroyed with no sleeves but sold my juzam and library and most of the singles I bought back then.

Oh and something interesting - I remember the guys that had and played with moxes so got in at the very beginning were buying and selling them to each other for at least 100-200. So nothing like now but dual lands were around 10 then so they knew how much more they were worth. Mostly middle aged guys had the real old stuff.

Oldest set was Starter 1999, but I've purchased older packs without knowing it back in 2001. They were like $1 more expensive and I was too new to know why.

I so wish I picked those up when they were $60 a box back in the day. No one wanted these boxes back in the day because the art was crap and had a stupid custom theme that did not relate to the Magic storyline and because the sales were so poor, there was only maybe two full print runs of this set (this was around for over 2 years, not rotating out till September of 2003); in previous base sets, there was 3 or 4 print runs of the base set, but this only got two, so the sealed boxes got very rare and when Magic got "collectable" about 10+ years later, these boxes became super scarce and the prices started skyrocketing. But there was a time when stores could barely even give these packs/boxes away.
