I've been watching this for about an hour now. I watch a few minutes, pause and do things and then come back for another dose. Seriously one of the nicest days in terms of quality, size and variety. Looks like a lot of it was manageably sized so your hunt was not hindered by a quick weight accumulation. Damn, dude!!! Just ON IT for the entire hunt looks like.

loving the colors in these also ,allot of the smokey shades of sunset . the gravel beds up there make my little streams look like rain gutters, you need a wheel barrel. I cant hunt jasper without water makes all the difference for sure , but the agates, got that light, I think thats why we love them so much especially the rounded river agates/ beach agates, they were the first stones in life I hunted and that glow... just good stuff right? I'm stoked on the Makers Challenge so far ! I'm putting them all up in order on my Q.F.D. face book page and sharing the links and vids in my community tab, doing announcements each day ect . incredible creativity so far !

Oh absolutely agree! That water makes a HUGE difference when hunting for jaspers! You can recognize them by texture on the yellowstone but really dont see what youre holding without a little assistance from water. And yes the yellowstone is gigantic!😄 its a 700 mile long river so no shortage of hunting grounds that's for sure. Those agates are a huge reason i even started rockhounding in the first place! You see a nice agate glowing away on a nice sunny day and it is one awesome feeling for sure😄 my first noteworthy find of my life was a nice montana agate in a horse pasture when i was just six so i think they will always be a sentimental favorite. Great finds Theo 👏👏👏 my favourite it the “jasper chert”. This is probably a dumb question .....do you not worry about bears ?? We have many dangerous snakes etc in Australia but Lo lucky no bears 😃😃
@TheoKellison3 жыл бұрын
Not a dumb question at all!😄 we absolutely have bears in Montana, big and dangerous grizzly bears at that, but they all stay in more high alpine areas in the mountains so you would never see any down where i rock hunt. Maybe black bears but they are not nearly as dangerous as you would think; dogs like german shepherds and huskies are actually bigger than the majority of Montana black bears so they will usually see you and stay away. Actually funny enough, on the yellowstone it's very similar to Australia in the regard that the snakes are what you need to be looking out for! We have some big rattlesnakes in Montana. Luckily it is still too cold in the year for them to have come out yet😄
