Carnelians are red, Sapphires are blue, I only wake on Fridays, To watch what Rookie will do! Haha🤓🐾 Gooday brotha! What a day of cutting eh? You're really getting great at shaping those babies. Well, to be honest, I think you've done an amazing job from the start dude. Watching some of your past cuts have actually inspired me to start shaping stones myself. I aspire to make a tower someday out of...something cool Idk haha! But it's makes me happy watching what you come up with and is why I'm sending you some rough to play with in your package... Which I just officially sent dude!😁 There is also some stones I pre-shaped a little that I thought you'd like and could play with or give away...i just couldn't find the time to finish them myself. My saw blade is done for at the moment and I need new polishing pads...again! Haha Anyway, excited for you to get it. You're going to shoot me (not literally obviously) when you get it. It's heavy...☺ But back to your viddy... 2:50- I would absolutely call that a plume my friend. And boy is it magnificent! 5:10- 100% plume ALL DAY!!! And hells yeah it looks like dragons fire 🔥 I'm nicknaming it Smaug🐉 Now dude... I seriously love ALL of the rhyolite you find... You know that but... the one at 10:47- 💥BAM the colors are poppin! All the colors of nature in one stone 🌈 Wow!💖👌mwah! Stunning Cannot wait to see them all shining pretty✨ 2 more weeks... I'll be there😎 Cheers m8🐾

MARLAINAAAAAA! Dude! So sorry for late response! I’m here now and just loved that first bit haha! Ohhhh yes! Your gonna shape your stones, it’s so much fun, I don’t know if they’re considered specimens or fancy paper weights but it’s so much fun, you wait mar. Tip I’ve learnt, the more flat sides the easier to polish hahaha! Buuuuuuuut you’ve got a cabbing machine now so that’s gonna make funky shapes so much easier to polish. Can’t wait to see what you come up with! Absolutely can’t wait M! Aye! Yes! The dragon from the hobbit!!!!! Okay the rock shall be henceforth known as Smaug. I love it cause it was the only book I’ve read of the series because the movies came out before I had a chance to read the others haha! I’m so so looking forward to the package! And there’s rough pieces in there! Oh and the chance to finish something you started is like a collaboration piece! I cannot wait. Unfortunately though, I think the polishing video is going to be pushed back cause I need more time haha! So I’m gonna do a small hunt video first. 🤪🤦♂️ I really need to not say what the next video is hahaha! It will be coming though! It will! Sending much love to you and the family and just hope you’re all doing well. I genuinely massively mean it mar! Talk soon on the gram, probably tomorrow 🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🤞🐺✨🍻

Hey Rob!!! Yeah, man the Rhyolite can be so cool inside hey. I need to do a test on it and see what it’s mohs hardness is but most of the time it does take a polish it just might have patches where it doesn’t take a polish depending on what mineral and things are where. So scientific right haha! But fingers crossed they shine okay 😊

I'm a brand new subscriber -- I'm glad you were recommended to me. I've loved rocks since I was a child (some 60 years ago, now) but I've never been a rockhounder, per se. Since I retired a few years back, I've gotten into jewelry making and the natural stones are my absolute favorites. I love to see what patterns you are finding when you cut into a stone. Lots of those slabs that you cut, jewelry makers would pay good money for. The one you cut at about 5:10 did indeed look like dragon fire! Awesome! Others that you've halved would be beautiful just mounted on wood blocks or in small window box frames , as art objects. Thanks for sharing and for breaking up the boredom for a housebound senior.

Hi Kim! So sorry for the late reply! I’ve been a bit behind lately. Thank you for your lovely comment!!! I would love to one day be able to share these pieces around. @@Rookie_Rockounding I know what you mean about finding a market and dealing with the shipping and all of that. My two best jewelry customers and cheerleaders passed away in the last two years (and thus their contacts as well), and now my own health issues make doing craft shows no longer an option. I'm thinking perhaps an etsy page or an online store, and I've got two willing daughters who can help. I've got a crazy amount of inventory to do something with. I hope you can find an outlet for your stash, too. Because, seriously, jewelry makers are craving natural stones. Take care, stay well! Thanks for responding.

Side note: it's been a brutal week/week and a half for the US. The city where I live has a corrupt police force that I as a pale-ass redhead prefer to avoid. They've killed far too many an unarmed person of color with no provocation nor justification - the most recent happened during looting on Monday night :( The videos that come out of unwarranted aggression and injury perpetuated by cops EVERY day are infuriating, but prompt me to be better and to have the difficult conversations that are absolutely necessary.

deegingerkid Man, I can’t believe what I have seen over here in Australia. The brutality has broken my heart. The depth and layers of years and decades of injustice breaks my heart. I feel for America. I feel for the country I was born in (yes I was born in the USA), who by what I have seen, lacks a leader who leads with their heart, instead of their wallet and the wallets of those who got him there. I don’t want to get political, but it’s embarrassing as an American 𝖠𝗎𝗌𝗍𝗋𝖺𝗅𝗂𝖺𝗇.

@@Rookie_Rockounding - You're spot on, friend. It's truly sad to see the definition of "profits over people". I just discovered you and subscribed! When I was a girl my great-uncle used to bring home rocks and cut them in half just like this. They were beautiful and I became fascinated with rocks and minerals at that early age which continued throughout my life. Thank you for sharing this and I look forward to watching your other videos.

Hello Nancy 😊 What a cool memory though. My nana was a rockhound but I think it was before I was old enough to remember it. But I love thinking she is looking down and liking what I do. Hopefully haha! I hope you enjoy the videos 😊

There just something about the saw starting up and the water shooting outwards, awesome. I'm glad you went for it. I look forward to your polishing video. These are so beautiful. I like how you take the time to think about the rock before cutting it!
