The original ratchet and clank from 2002 is still one of the best video games ever made I think! The back and forth relationship between the main duo and drek was a beast in that game. The 2016 version of the character felt very watered down to what came before. Nowhere near as menacing or a threat. Plus Qwark didn’t join drek until much later on in the 2016 game and not before like in the original game too.

I don’t think it’d be a farfetched theory to believe that Drek learned the hard way why you should never trust and work with Emperor Nefarious. I assume Drek was hired by Nefarious to build him a robot army to take over the galaxy with under the promise that Nefarious would help Drek and the Blarg create New Orxon for them to live on. Nefarious, being his evil self, betrays Drek, turns him into a sheep, and nationalizes his company soon afterward. Knowing he lost everything, Drek spends the rest of his days drowning his sorrows at Zurkie’s Bar.

My headcanon is that because Rivet's universe never had a proper Ratchet and Clank duo, let alone one that grew up in that universe's Solana, no one was able to stop Drek from making perfect planets and was able to succeed in making tons of them. This likely caused Solana's citizens to migrate to other galaxies like Polaris, explaining how Quantum ended up in that galaxy. Eventually Drek ran out of planets to create new perfect ones so he decided to invade Polaris since it was close like they are in Ratchet and Clank's universe. However since he didn't know about Emperor Nefarious (who I also headcanon was always a robot and was built in Polaris by that universe's Lombaxes) Drek and his forces were easily defeated and as punishment, Emperor Nefarious used a modified Sheepinator on Drek that permanently turned him into a sheep. With nowhere to go, Drek stayed in Polaris to sulk along with his Blarg forces who stayed behind as well for several reasons, one being that some tried to fight against the Empire, as I recall a bit of dialogue in Nefarious City from a citizen asking if the Empire was at war with the Blarg.

@@VtnVivi 2002 Drek revealed to Ratchet and Clank that he was going to pollute the new world he made for the Blarg just so he can be paid to make another one, so I can see the Drek in Rivet's universe doing just that but eventually came to the idea of making multiple planets at once to multiply his earnings.

Well since it's not the same Drek, and he was also sheepinated like 2016 Drek maybe the affects of the Sheepinator are permanent in Rivet's dimension

in rivet's dimension before the emporor took over i'm guessing rivet beat drek solo and the emporor turned him into a sheep. i didn't mention kit because of how rivet reacted to clank and kit at the start of the game and trailer

Thinking about it, there could be some interesting reasons why Drek was thrown out by Nefarious. Perhaps in this version, the Emperor was the one who destroyed his world, and Drek was stealing tech in order to remake the Blaargian homeworld, which caused the Emperor to throw him out and Sheepify him. That, or Drek was just blamed for the tech theft, because it happened near his department, and was therefore sheepified because Nefarious didn't like him in particular, possibly due to some petty reason that won't ever be explained.

Rivet will definitely be interested in Ratchet's because she would want to known what caused him to not want to look for other Lombaxes, where as Kit probably wonders how Clank ended up with Ratchet

this has a lot of unsolved answers i was in one of the live-stream with insomniac games playing a crack in time you could ask any question to them about the game i was going to ask them about the zoni dimension but didn't probably because of it either being a place where ratchet and clank might visit or travel after clank helps ratchet save the world and return him home to his own people and clank returning to the great clock with sigmund

I will point out that in the 3rd game Nefarious whole plan was to turn people into robots through arguably small moon sized version of the Morph-O-Tech(I'm calling it that) which makes the person permanently(but not irreversible) into whatever they were morphed into. Also the vid comics taking place before Drek's planet stealing plan went underway when Nefarious was a robot. So my silly backstory would be after vid comic 2 robot Nefarious instead thinks up a more over the top plan than wind up bugs terrorizing Metropolis. And instead gets into Drek's pockets to give him what he wants only to betray him as a sheep that will stay as a sheep until the day he dies meanwhile Nefarious has all of Dreks resources at his disposal for galaxy conquest. Since the first game did show how much control and power he had but was only using it for his own greed of selling property instead of taking the whole galaxy as his own.

I think they will, Lombaxes are scattered across different dimensions so they'll probably travel to many different ones to find them

I have an idea: I know people probably won't like this, but maybe the 2016 universe is a separate universe, and Emperor Nefarious saw how pitiable that Drek was after comparing him to the main Drek, and knowing that he could give him the same or even better technology than the reimagined Nefarious could, he brought him into his universe to help with his domination, with the promise of helping form his new planet, unfortunately, he was booted from his position because he couldn't turn back into a Blarg, so to get an inconvenience like him out of his plan, Nefarious banished him to Zerkie's, but allowed Drek's Blarg to stay with him doing odd jobs while watching out for people who might try and harm him. Maybe his ramblings are about botching his opportunity to redeem himself because his ego got too big when his planet was completed. Is that too much?

You’ve probably heard by now that ratchet and clank rift apart is now on PC am I right? Apparently the SSD makes all the difference, even though it’s verified for use on the steam deck.

Most versions of the Steam Deck have an SSD, and a lot of the people who buy the eMMC version, do so intending to swap it out for an SSD as well.
