Bikepacking and wild camping trip with my friend to a supposedly haunted and cursed ruined lodge building located deep in the mountains.
This building is called Luibelt Lodge and many people who have visited it have spoken of scary poltergeist experiences and other ghostly events.
The links below will take you to a BBC podcast all about this interesting structure and events that have meant to have taken place in the past.
Ghost Info:
www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotlan...
Podcast About Lodge Poltergeist:
www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001...
I also highly recommend you watch Murray on his YT channel ‘Scotland’s Mountains’ when he releases his version as he spent a lot more time filming and going into the spooky history of this building along with a lot more fireside chat.
Murrays Channel / Halloween Film Release:
www.youtube.com/@ScotlandsMou...
This trip has also let me try out some new camping gear such as the recently released ‘Terra Nova Laser Compact AS’ tent. Along with a new sleeping mat from ‘Collins Outdoor’ the ‘Light Tour’ with an (R5.8) temperature rating.
Please do not purchase any gear I have used based on this video until I can fully review in more detail. This was just a short overnight Wild Camping trip to try the gear out.

Another excellent video ray and nice to see you still battling with the bike packing!! - you soon learn that there are significant limitations to where you can go and what kinda ground you can cover on a bike no matter what type you've got, still we have fun trying - fortunately my best fails never made it to youtube 😀- I've got a route in mind round that area but I suspect it will have to wait till next year now with the fading light... - had my eye on that tent.. looks like a solid 4 season one man effort.. just the price... maybe I'll spring for it anyway... how do you find it weight wise? I think its advertised as 1.7kg? reasonable if it is the bombproof 4 season tent its proclaimed to be... ummm decisions....
@RS.Outdoors
@RS.Outdoors 7 ай бұрын
We did hit a few limitations on that trip :) More so with Murray's bike which is ancient and the brakes failed on way down the hill in morning. Had to stop and keep waiting for him as he used his boots to slow down, lol. Great area but track is really rough made from very large pieces of gravel which was more like boulders. Was really surprised I hadn't knacker a tyre. Atb

11:51 That is a beautiful place adjacent to the river, with fantastic views. That sleeping mat is as you say expensive at £108 as are tents to be fair. Probably why I haven't bought a tent as don't fancy paying £500 for a tent that is only guaranteed to stay waterproof for 3 or so years. If I buy a Gortex waterproof coat I expect it to last at least ten years or more so don't understand how a tent manufacturer can't provide better warranties given waterproof jackets are used every day in winter but a tent would only be used infrequently.
@RS.Outdoors

@@RS.Outdoors Yeah I really understand and agree with what you say on costs etc. It's a shame as I would really like to go out camping but I don't have a two-person tent as I would want space for me and my German Shepherd and perhaps my son. I have a good Snugpak Softie 10 for when Im on overseas duty but I just can't afford to pay 400 - 500 on a 2-person tent when I would probably only use it 3 or 4 times a year.

I would say yes strange that you both have battery issues . I can believe the sound of dear could put people on edge. But I was on my own in a remote roadside location recently, and I got frightened. I parked up in my van , many years travelling around the highlands I have never got more frightened! I only stayed a few minutes! Just north of Loch Ness . Just a woodland area , no habitation. No houses just woodland. Well I heard sounds like a Bigfoot documentary in Alaska wilderness. Strange nocking notices , and barking like noises but not barking like dog barking . It was about 2am that I pulled on at the side of this road and A road . No habitation just woodland and forest . I left this place within minutes , I was scared! I pulled up beside this road as I was tired, travelling over night from Oban to Kyle of Lochalsh in September 2023 . From ferry from mull that got into Oban about midnight . Needless to say I later found a suitable stop to get my head down for a few hours , undisturbed.
