Was in the round house after getting caught copin dope. From there went to CFCF due to an out of state warrant in Delaware. Was there for about a month until they took me to Gander Hill, in Wilmington. Moving from room to room in booking for two days was the worst part of Philly prison. I was extremely blessed and had an outstanding celly in the pod I was placed. Dude smuggled in some of the most blazin dope(Old Navy) just as I was starting to ill. Traded him a jail lunch for a bag and it helped me get through withdraw a bit easier. Back then was sorta like going through the drive thru at McDonald's. Didn't even have to get out of the car and could get everything you wanted at the same spot. It was actual heroin back then, too! Thankfully, I'm clean these days, as the dope has absolutely no heroin in it and is rotting people's flesh away. I thank GOD every day for watching over me and keeping me safe. Edit - Forgot to mention this was in 1998.

Oh 7th St! Back in the good ol' 90s, 7th & McKean had terrific "hard," which up north, back then, they'd call "ready rock." Hit that intersection and go, "Yo readies!" They'd come. Unfortunately there was quite a few nit wits at that spot. It wasn't real professional like up north. Some dudes were cool, but... Some of them would be all, "Yo, CDs...CDs" Then, like, 1999 they started beatin' people. I don't know if the crew was doing it or dudes who would just sell wax or sheet rock when they weren't out. But when that hard was at its best no where could touch it. It was in a different world.

sounds about right. I lived around there early 2000s. Used the laundry mat on 7th and snyder and worked at a Cambodian restaraunt up the strewt. It wasnt organized then either, just kinda first come first serve. I think its a little more organized now from what I hear with the fetanyl taking over.

I e read that there is now somewhat of an opioid epidemic in this section of the city, somewhat similar to what’s going on in Kensington. Doesn’t look nearly as bad but is that true?

Its not as open air as Kenzo is but for as long as I remember its been a known drug neighborhood. Kenzo really is It's own world compared to the rest of Philly. The corner store on 7th and Snyder was my store when I lived over there and I used to work at a Cambodian restaurant there. I've seen shootings, fights, drugs, you name it. Its a rough stop for sure.

@@savagegang2158 hopefully it never gets as bad as Kenzo. Lots of gentrification going on there and eventually it’s going to force people into other areas of the city. 🙏

@@jpf1974 Believe it or not this neighborhood has gotten worse over the years. I think they leave certain streets as is to isolate the drug problem. We used to call it smoker central cause of all the crack heads that stayed there.
