There is somewhat new graffiti on the Schuylkill mural at the Girard overpass. I don't know how long it's been there because I only travel that route every two months or so. I was counting down the weeks until it would be ruined. I noticed it on July 4, 2024 and I about cried. It was always a joy to see it welcoming me home. Now that small bit of happiness is gone. Graffiti is cool, but its NOT cool to deface someone else's art, especially when the art you are defacing is better than the art you are putting down. Not to mention we all have probably paid for that installment through the ridiculously exorbitant taxes that are imposed on us.

I grew up in Overbrook. I would have liked being able to know what the roads were. Enlarging didn’t help. I only recognized the 69th and 63rd St. area. Thanks for the tour, it brought back memories.

Born and raised in Wilm., DE. Left in '98. The thing I always knew about Wilmington was that as soon as the black population of any area approached 50% or more, neither City nor county, let alone the state, ever spent another penny on such areas.

How do I NOT subscribe to someone's channel that has the one word we put on the map! Besides cheese steak wit! A buddy of mine opened a restaurant truck with fine food. Called Eat That Jawn. Yooooo in a month. He made more than he had been in a year working in IT. Truck is parked in NE Philly. I believe near Cottman and Blvd. but Google Eat That Jawn. And go check them out. Tell them Little Tina that now lives down the shore sent ya! It'll be on the house. Lmao they'll Venmo me the bill to break my balls! I've known them my whole life. Great people. And the food. Makes me mad AF I'm stuck in shitty ass NJ. I can't afford to get out. Btw. You should roll thru pville again. With homes now selling at 300k in Pville- it's been cleaned up really nice. Two friends of mine who swore they'd never live there both do and they absolutely love it. Everything they could need is in walking, and everything has been cleaned up. There's still parts I'd tell anyone to steer clear of. But at least it ain't K&A. Man. I didn't wanna go into Kensington 25 years ago. I damn sure don't wanna be around there now. Cops do nothing, people shooting up in the streets. Laying there dead as people step over them. Literallly. Lost too many I love to that cess pool.

The first recorded European settlement in what is now Bridgeton was made by 1686 when Richard Hancock established a sawmill here. Settlers established a pioneer ironworks in 1814. Bridgeton was incorporated as a township by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 3, 1845, from portions of Deerfield Township.

Why do a silent video? Anyone can do that. Talk instead and give us a vocal guided historical tour. Your videos give the impression you know nothing about the area.

The funny part of this is that West Atlantic City isn't part of Atlantic City at all... It is and always have been part of Egg Harbor Township, not Atlantic City. Patrolled by Egg Harbor Township Police, not ACPD. That's why Casinos couldn't be built on that long stretch of road because it was outside of Atlantic City. Egg Harbor Township (West Atlantic City) and Atlantic City are two different municipalities.

I used to live back on 48th and Parrish street from 1975 to 1979 and then I live with a cousin and his family back on 49th and Brown Street from 1979 to 1984 and then his stepmother later bought a house back on 51st and Hazel Avenue and we ended up moving thereand living there from 1984 up into 2020 because I know those areas very well because today I can ride an electric mountain bike all throughout West Philadelphia and still could remember the houses that I once lived in through the decades.

Oh 7th St! Back in the good ol' 90s, 7th & McKean had terrific "hard," which up north, back then, they'd call "ready rock." Hit that intersection and go, "Yo readies!" They'd come. Unfortunately there was quite a few nit wits at that spot. It wasn't real professional like up north. Some dudes were cool, but... Some of them would be all, "Yo, CDs...CDs" Then, like, 1999 they started beatin' people. I don't know if the crew was doing it or dudes who would just sell wax or sheet rock when they weren't out. But when that hard was at its best no where could touch it. It was in a different world.

sounds about right. I lived around there early 2000s. Used the laundry mat on 7th and snyder and worked at a Cambodian restaraunt up the strewt. It wasnt organized then either, just kinda first come first serve. I think its a little more organized now from what I hear with the fetanyl taking over.
