I remember sitting at one of my friend's houses, way back in the day, playing on his Wii while his older brother told us about this thing called "The Nintendo Revolution". And how it could play virtually any Nintendo console games on it. But I also remember thinking "well doesn't the Wii already do that...? Why would we need a new system for that?" And then I discovered how little we all actually knew, being that the Wii's prototype name was the Revolution. Silly me.

I was 19, and this was the first time I was aware of E3. The whole thing with the Nintendo Revolution, the secrecy, the fans trying to figure out what it was ... Those were definitely the days. It was an incredible experience that you guys would have just had to be there for. I remember being on the official Nintendo forums all the time. It was funny how wrong people were about the console in general. Now to look up the Nintendo mockup where it was a helmet, the one where it says you can play games and make games. The one where Reggie wanted to hire the person who made it.

Such a good time This was back then, Nintendo still cares about his legacy, They pay the tribute to him in the Super Mario Bros movie credit scene, I've read some comments of this video weaponizing and blaming his death against Nintendo and I think it's absolutely ungrateful and sad and it needs to stop. There were also problems during the 3DS and the Wii U era as well when him and Reggie were still around, The problem about the Nintendo hate situation is when people blame Nintendo as a whole, They drag in the developers and the employees, considering the fact they have absolutely nothing to do with the DMCA legal team in Japan that makes those decisions. Both Nintendo and Iwata cared about their developers and the employees and me and many other respectful Nintendo fans are doing the same thing, We don't care if those developers or employees don't care about us, but we care about them because they have famous people that have been to conventions before that deserve a lot of care and respect. Still to this day me and the other casual respectful Nintendo fans will do whatever it takes to defend the developers and the employees from the lousy complainers that still unfortunately harass or attack anyone from joining Nintendo games or Nintendo products. #NintendoForever

It's kinda crazy to think back and realize that the Wii played 5 generations of games no it....NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube and it's own, the Wii itself lol. It might not have been a powerful console, but a game system with passion, playfulness and the ability to play games from 5 different systems is insane. Never going to happen again. (I know it didn't have EVERY game from the past systems, but it had a lot of the best from each system)

It's now 2016, and Nintendo still hasn't fully realised the true potential of the Virtual Console. By now, we really should be able to play basically every single past Nintendo game on the Wii U, including all its mobile games too. It's crazy that it's ten years later and this idea still seems like it's still not been properly figured out and fully realised by Nintendo.

"it technically is capable of playing virtually every Nintendo console game", did you heard that, Nintendo Switch?

I mean… even the Wii U lost this capability. GameCube backwards compatibility was lost, and there was no GameCube Virtual Console.

Only if the console was called Nintendo Revolution. That sounds way better then a Wii
@Phantron

And Wii U should have been called Ultra Nintendo or something.

***** Ultra Nintendo.... That is bad. I would rather have a console named a Wii U than an Ultra Nintendo

table255 Well, it's just an idea, acclaiming the "Super" Nintendo and the codename for Nintendo 64, "Ultra" 64.

Yeah, I knew what you meant by Ultra Nintendo. I thought of Super Nintendo too when you mentioned it.

Today Sony presents her "Revolution", a playstation with native retrocompatibility and motion controls (+VR). BUT... it has great graphics and online too, it took 15 years to arrive at this. In 2032 we will se the first hybrid home-portable playstation. LOL.
