Hi Josh, As this is the my rig I will add my 2 cents! I am fine with the carpet for the slide. Feels good on bare feet when sitting in the dinette. We have baskets for clothes and hung a black curtain just in front of the shelves with an auto LED light behind the TV. All our clothes fit in that space very nicely. We added some wire shelving in the pantry to make better use of tall compartments. I love sleeping in the tent ends and have a foam topper and sleep with our feet towards that bench so it is more like a King for 2 adults and 3 dogs!! The back bed is also one of the dogs favorite spots and we use that space mostly for additional everyday gear like back packs, guitar, and naps etc. We put a rod across that tent end for our hanging clothes which does not interfere with closing up the bunk at all. We also removed the burners/swing arm from the outdoor kitchen and made a sink with cutting board where the griddle mounts. I have a wonderful Eureka 2 burner stove ( excellent simmer control + wind protection) plus a q 1200 Weber tabletop grill on a separate table for my outdoor kitchen set up. LOVE the big fridge for the bar and b-fast foods especially. With the swing arm gone, lots of room for storage. It all fits under the awning so I can cook in any weather. I go inside only if I have to. The fireplace is amazing and when stuck inside in bad weather our Roo ROCKS. We live in New England so that happens ;-) The bed latches are very flimsy however so need to be careful. More mods to come then onto a Class C for retirement! All the best, B

I have recently picked up a 2022 21SS, love it so far after one trip. Got the extra solar with 200ah of lithium. Lasted three days with minimal sun and the 12v fridge. They come with thy TPMS sensors but unfortunately Rockwood failed to put them in all the tires. I had one missing, dealer wants the trailer for 3 weeks to simply remove the tire and wheel to install one. So may wait until end of season and just rely on the 3. So check these during your walk around, open the tst package for the sensors and check every tire. Other than that a great trailer so far. Colorado camper here tow with a Silverado trail boss, with the RAS active suspension and eq-4 hitch.

Josh I love this camper I am seriously considering picking one up at this years Tampa RV super show hopefully I will have the proper tow vehicle. The outdoor kitchen is an absolute game changer being a taller human being it's not a head knocker. Thank you for reviewing this trailer I need a six pack shower caddy 🤣 BTW I have read that if you leave your vent fans on with the door closed up it will suck in the canvas on the tent bed ends.
@ericisabelle60542 жыл бұрын
When folding the bed ends, yes, putting both fans on "4" will ensure that the fabric is sucked in away from the seals. Makes folding the beds very easy for one person to do. We have a 233s and use that trick every time we break camp.

I own a 2012 Shamrock. I love it. It’s the perfect size for someone that is vertically challenged, like myself and my wife. One thing I would warn about though, when it’s really humid out and you have the a/c kicking, those canvas bed coverings can produce some precipitation. Other than that, these are great “starter” campers.

OK here is some comments from owning one of this model since 02/21. first we have camped in mountains areas 4 times a total 7 weeks over the time period of ownership. This year on the second night our heater sounded like an airplane was taking off while it came on about 3am, we set it low about 62 degrees. Since we were off grid the only heat source was the fireplace but this needed a generator, quiet time was 10:00pm! So after 2yrs and 4 months using a heater maybe 3 hours a night for 4 weeks. The heater was not covered under the warrantee. Next the window over the couch lost one of its rollers on one arm! Not covered under warranty, the entire window had to be replaced. This stays under covered storage most of the time and is not used that much, So be sure and buy an extended warranty because it seems likely you will be using it. The total cost of repairs was a little over $2,100.00Show less

I love these hybrid campers. So much room but also so short while towing and easy to park. I went with a 21SS over the 235S. A concern for hitch weight is why I made that choice ultimately. The 21SS is 200lbs lighter on the hitch which is crazy considering it's only 2ft shorter than the 235S but has mostly the same features (minus the outside kitchen).

Love the hybrids. I bought a used Jayco 23XB about 4 years ago for our family and it's a perfect beginner camper. My parents have a Rockwood 23ikss, which has awesome opposing dual slides to make for a HUGE living area. One down side is that as my parents get older, the less they like having to crawl into the end beds. Also having to "set up" the beds means these are more of a destination type trailer, not great at being constantly on the move. And man, do those canvas ends let in a bunch heat in the middle of a Texas summer day.

@chuckspencer52962 жыл бұрын
OK Josh.... I don't know why, but I never really think of hybrid campers... The only concern I would have down here in Georgia would be the heat of summer. Not sure how those beds would do with that... and I may not be a super fan of the radius shower, but I think it works in this floorplan! Gotta use the room that you have! The double queen beds in either end make this really useful for two adults, or pairs of adults.... And that would work for buddy / hunting camping down south for sure. Now I'm gonna have to go down this rabbit hole... Thanks Josh!!! 🤣♥
@AndyU32 жыл бұрын
I have a hybrid in Texas and there's no doubt that they heat up in the middle of the day. The beds have curtains that we keep closed during the day and that help keep the middle of the camper cool enough. Using a bed in the day time is brutal in the summer. At night though, it stays plenty cool with the AC going and no sun beating on it. The plus side is that in the late fall and early spring, being able to open up all those zip screens on the beds makes it feel like being outside with great breezes. Happy camping!
@TJ-di1lb2 жыл бұрын
I live in south Georgia and owned a hybrid for a while . I normally don't go camping when its over 90 degrees but when I did in our hybrid even with the air on full blast those beds are miserable. plus they keep the rest of the camper hot to. when its 95 degrees outside I'm lucky if I can get the camper down to 84 degrees (it was a new Jayco at the time with a 15k BTU air) in the heat of the day with the beds open . Closing the curtain helps but the best thing is just fold the bed up during the day and fold it out at night. They are great campers for fall and spring camping but really suck for summertime camping in the south. we kept it one summer and traded it in for a regular travel trailer.

We live in Central Florida and have an older Rockwood Roo hybrid. We don't even think of camping in the summer in Florida even though it has ducted air that works. We also have the reflective bed end covers that do help reduce the heat slightly. Summer here is like 95 degrees during the day for 5 months. If the beds are closed then we can keep the camper cool.

This very similar to our first Jayco hybrid!! However, this is better because it has the outdoor kitchen and a tootsie toaster fireplace! We wish we would have been able to keep ours for my daughter and her family. One caution, tho: keep up on the scotchgard and do not put it away wet after a rain, mildew forms easily if you do. And the canvas can pull away after a few years, needing replacement.
